This property was okay. However they need to work on their service response. Whenever you call the front desk or reception for something, it took way too long for them to respond, sometimes they never show up with that you need. 1. My first night there the bathroom smelled funny even after many attempts to clean it I stay in room 93001. 2. I couldn’t figure out how to get the main shower to work on my first night there, I asked for someone to come and check it out because I initially thought it wasn’t broken. No one came until the next morning when I started to make a fuss and get very upset. I was a solo female traveller now imagine, if I had a safety concerns there would be no one will there to help out 3. Everyday housekeeping will clean the room and not restock my towels, supplies or bathrobe. I had to call the front desk for towels and they either took very long to bring one for me or they never brought it for me 4 . On my last day at the result by airport shuttle was scheduled to come to the resort at 10:55 am. I had called the front desk at approximately 10:20 to come and help me carry my bags and for the check out. I called three different times but no one came to assist me. I had to drag my bags myself to the front desk to check out and they still wasted my time at the front desk, I almost missed my airport shuttle 4. I have to say tho some of the staff were really nice especially on my first day when I had left my bag on the shuttle bus. They were supporti

We liked the overall experience. It was clean and the staff was great. The beach and pools were awesome. We felt the food could have been better. Also that the private pools were dirty from pigeon poop. We also think there should’ve been more options for English television.

Staff was incredible, specially Danilo and Hector. Activities were well-planned. Bed in the room was very uncomfortable, not able to have sound sleep. Lot of mosquitos, also had encounter with roaches. On main website, it is mentioned unlimited dinners at the restaurants. But we were only provided set number of reservations as per nights of stay. We were there 4 nights and could reserve only 4 reservations. This is the only resort that clearly mentions 'UNILIMITED DINNERS' but still fails to act on it. Every other resort clears describes 1 reservation per day allowed, we went through with Bahia just because we thought they had more flexibility in choosing what we can eat with no restrictions but that was not the case. It is very difficult to get dinner reservations, most of the restaurants are completely full for week in advance and you get very limited choices. Food was standard at par at the buffet. There was minimal change in the buffet on daily basis. Buffet gets boring when you repeatedly eat the same dishes every day. Fruits were lacking, mangoes were not readily available. Other fruits were sub-standard quality, sometimes not ripe.

During my recent stay, I found several aspects of the property to be commendable. The amenities were well-maintained, and I especially appreciated that the pool remained at a comfortable temperature even on windy days. The grounds were clean, and the staff I encountered were generally polite and courteous. However, there were a few significant issues that detracted from my overall experience. Upon arrival, I noticed a persistent sewer-like odor in both the hallway and my room. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the matter—through calls to the concierge, discussions with the manager, and messages via the hotel chat service—the issue remained unresolved. As someone who is currently pregnant, the air quality in the room made it difficult to breathe comfortably, particularly at night, which greatly affected my stay. Communication with hotel staff also left much to be desired. On the evening of my daughter’s birthday, I had reserved a space at the on-site restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was subpar; the staff made us feel like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. It was a disappointing experience, and I regretted choosing that venue to celebrate such a special occasion. While the hotel has potential, the unresolved maintenance issues and lack of responsive service significantly impacted what could have been a pleasant stay.

This was my first time out of the country and it made the experience so great! I really enjoyed the pool and the beach views! The staff was amazing. Rosalia and Angel in the buffet, Rocio (hopefully I spelled her name right) the housekeeper for my room, and many of the bartenders and waitress throughout the resort who I didn’t get names for. Would definitely come here again especially to see some of the staff again!

We recently stayed at Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda and overall had a lovely experience. The property is absolutely beautiful—located right on the beach with plenty of palm trees, shaded areas, and umbrellas to relax under. The restaurant by the beach quickly became one of my favorite spots. The food was fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious throughout our stay. The service was generally good, and the staff was responsive when we had requests. For example, we asked to change the bed sheets and pillows due to an unpleasant smell, and they promptly replaced them both times. However, we did notice a few areas that could be improved—particularly the towels. There were plenty of large towels, but we lacked small towels for hands and a bath mat for when stepping out of the shower, even after mentioning it a few times. The gym was excellent, and there were plenty of paths to walk around and enjoy the tropical atmosphere. The staff checked in with us regularly, even before breakfast, to see how we were doing. While we truly enjoyed our stay, we did find that our experience at RIU HOTELS felt more attentive. All in all, Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda is a beautiful and relaxing place to stay, especially if you’re looking for a beachfront getaway with great food and a picturesque environment. With a few small adjustments in service details, it could be truly exceptional

The property is Newly renovated, the rooms are nothing extravagant. Ours had a shower and a tub with double sinks. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The variety of restaurants on property was good. The beach is right next to the buildings and there are two pools. The pools do close at 7pm each night. They have lots of shows and activities, so download the app to have full access to al the events. The room service could be better, very limited options and no breakfast options at all. If you have an early excursion, you might not be able to get breakfast as it opens til 7am. Overall loved my stay here, to those drinking bring a tumbler it’ll make life easier. If you are doing an excursion to the islands, take swim shoes as it is very rocky! Would definitely come here again.
