The property looked modern, beautiful, clean and was very inviting. The property was well laid out, and had an enormous pool that spanned most of the property. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and made us feel like family. Ricardo and Clavel are crowd favourites and their warm and jovial personalites are the reason for this. I wasn't able to swim at beach because there was an over abundance of sea weed in the shallow waters, at the time. The very enjoyable water park more than made up for this. I really enjoyed my stay. 9/10

This was our second visit to this property - but the first since it was taken over by Wyndham. It did not disappoint. The property is absolutely stunning. We lucked out - there were probably less than 200 guests on the property while we were there. The pros: *The staff is so kind and respectful. Always so helpful. Shout out to Ana in the VIP concierge and Pedro from the Activities team. *The property is immaculate and gorgeous. *The rooms are a good size - beds are super comfy. *Price is hard to beat. The cons: *Food was ok. Not great. *Not sure the club upgrade is worth the money. *Disappointing that there was a charge for wine other than house wine. While the hard liquor, beer, and basic wine was free, if you wanted anything else you had to buy a bottle. *Sometimes it felt a bit like there was always an "upsell". We went to the spa, and they were pushing their products on us afterwards. A little upsetting when you've already spent $250. Will we go back? Probably. Hint: Don't rely on public taxis. We booked a driver ahead of time through the hotel. They were waiting for us at the airport and were courteous, good drivers.

Truly a spectacular experience. Me and my mother visited for a few nights, and were amazed by the efficient of staff, the cleanliness of the hotel and the amazing dining options available during our stay. The staff were amazing and were dedicated to keeping us engaged through various activities offered, like aquafit,volleyball, basketball, Zumba and so much more. An incredible thank you to Wilbin, a staff member who kept me laughing throughout our stay. The only recommendation that I have is for the show times to be moved to an earlier time. It seemed that the time between dinner and the show was quite long and after a long day of being outside we were exhausted. Overall, it was truly an amazing vacation and I would recommended this resort to everyone!!

My stay at Wyndham Altra was overall pretty good, but there were several disappointing aspects that affected the experience. One major letdown was that the water park and lazy river were under construction during our visit, so we didn’t have access to them—something we had really looked forward to. Dining options were also underwhelming. Out of the four advertised restaurants, only one or two were open each day. The dinner buffet, in particular, lacked variety and often had many empty stations during the weekdays. Only on Saturday did the buffet feel fully stocked and worth the visit. While most of the staff were generally friendly, the service became noticeably less pleasant when asking for additional food. On multiple occasions, requests for more food were met with judgment or outright refusal, leaving us feeling uncomfortable and, frankly, still hungry. Some staff members even ignored us altogether, which made the experience feel unwelcoming—especially for guests who don’t have very small appetites. Overall, while the resort has potential, the limited amenities and inconsistent service were disappointing and detracted from what could have been a much better stay.
