Wonderful vacation. Beach is perfect pools are great. Bathrooms could use updating but room was perfect for 2 friends. Buffet needs help was not a fan very little flavor but you can survive. restaurants are amazing we went to 4. Staff is great but I only spoke English so that can be a challenge. Had an amazing relaxing massage at spa. Hotel booked the best horseback trip. Because I’m an Expedia platinum member we had the best concierge Juan Carlos. He was fantastic. He helped us every day and made our very affordable vacation feel 5 star. He spoiled us and took care of our every need. Would definitely go back.

This was our 2nd time visiting Occidental Caribe and we absolutely love the atmosphere and great vibes from the staff. Italian was the best food we ate while there but the other restaurants were also great. Everyone is willing to help out if needed. I would love to return again!

We had an amazing stay here and would highly recommend! We were celebrating our honeymoon and they went above and beyond starting with a room upgrade as soon as we arrived. Don’t believe all the negative reviews, it is all based on your preferences and everyone has different experiences. We are hoping to return next year with our kids! The staff were amazing and so friendly! We received a butler for booking through Expedia and she exceeded our expectations! Everything was phenomenal and we can’t wait to visit again!

The resort is beautiful and maintained well, you can see the ocean. It’s gorgeous outside, it does need some updating to the rooms but you’re only there to sleep anyway. The lay out is a little odd. It took us a while to figure out where all the restaurants were. The staff were willing to help and with the language barrier they do have some staff that speak English more fluently than others who can help more. Honestly for as many tourists, there should be more people who speak multiple languages .A phone translator is very useful. However, if you’re away from the hotel the phones don’t always work. You have to make reservations for the restaurants and it’s during certain hours. With excursions it does make it difficult. By the third day we had it figured out. Also, you need to book excursions through the hotel or they don’t let the other excursion people through the gate. I wish we would’ve known that upfront as it would’ve saved a lot of time and headache. There was always plenty of food at the buffet and they pretty much had the same things every day. So, you could try something different every day if you wanted. They even had little chef stations where they made pasta, tacos etc for you too. I will say the drinks were never very cold, however with it being a tropical area, I don’t think it can consistently stay cold. The staff there were very friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping staff always seemed to keep our floors clean and our towels stocked. I was pleased with that.

The balcony was perfect, the bar was excellent. Most of all the staff was great like always. Julia Polanco provided us with an outstanding customer service.
