My daughter loved the lazy river and the buffet, which had great variety and good quality. She also really liked the magic show and Michael Jackson show. The rooms are pretty good. The staff were great. We had Carlos as our assistant who was making our reservations and helping schedule things. The beach at the resort is pretty, but rocky with strong currents, so we did most of our ocean swimming on an excursion.

The resort was quiet and beautifully designed, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and a nicely sized suite that made our stay comfortable. The food and drinks were amazing, and overall I was genuinely impressed with the entire experience. Our stay was made truly unforgettable thanks to Jose Miguel Jimenez, the most amazing concierge/butler I have ever met in my life. His customer-first attitude is on another level. He was always available on WhatsApp — whether I needed help with reservations at restaurants, arranging a ride, answering questions about the resort. Overall - I highly highly recommended this resort to my fellow Canadians & US travellers.

Had a great stay. It'd be nice if there were 1-2 more workers in the coffee shop as the line was long. The steakhouse was delicious. The italian one took forever for service. Juana at the lobby bar was amazing!

The room was very clean . Our housekeeper was very nice and she did a great job cleaning our room every day. Our Bulter Kevin Superb . He all our reservations booked and got all our issues resolved. We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this resort. Although the staff were generally friendly and helpful, the food situation was very concerning. There was raw fish left out in the open, which felt unsafe considering the weather. Only one buffet was open during lunchtime, even though the website gave us the impression that we would have multiple dining options available throughout the day, not just at dinner. On top of that, many of the dishes we tried were undercooked and felt unsafe to eat. Unfortunately, after the first dinner, we had gotten steak and that ended up resulting in a bacterial infection which led us to leave the resort and book a flight earlier out to get checked out by our local doctors. The food made us very sick. We were vomiting multiple times throughout the day and even developed an infection, which forced us to leave earlier than planned. For days, we couldn’t eat a proper meal since the first incident, and were left with the short selection of fries to eat for the next couple days, as it was the only item we felt was safe to eat. Overall, this experience ruined our trip and left us genuinely concerned for our health. We were extremely unhappy with our stay and hope that management takes these issues seriously.

Kevin paulino is an amazing customer service representative. He always made sure we had everything we need for our big group and our kids. He always made sure the fridge was stocked up with milk for the little ones. That goes above and beyond what we experienced at many other resorts. This place is a joke with no Customer Service whatsoever. I arrived early and added my girlfriend to the reservation. I told them to call the guard gate to make sure she can get in. They would not let her in the guard gate in over 20 minutes. I tried to talk to the front counter and asked to see a manager. I couldn’t even get a manager to come out. I got the runaround I had to go to Customer Service as for a manager still couldn’t get a manager Back to the front counter. I ended up getting a refund for my entire visit and went to Majestic Colonial and had no problem whatsoever. I’ve been there many times it’s a better resort with no problems and great guest service. I still not got a refund yet and Expedia just said I had to deal with The hotel. I’ve booked hundreds and hundreds of trips with Expedia. This is the worst problem I’ve ever had and getting my money back. It’s still not resolved.

The resort its self was absolutely beautiful. Staff were all very kind and helpful. The butler service helping us with reservations for dinner and taxis service was fantastic. The food and beverage staff including chamber maids also very delightful. Down side of this establishment was as soon as we checked in, we were mislead into what we thought was a guided tour of the property. Which in fact ended up being an attempt to pressure us into purchasing a membership to H10 resorts. This process took up 2.5 hrs of our first morning at the Ocean El Faro establishment. Also the constant harassment to purchase over priced tours. This got so bad that we would take back ways around the resort to avoid the daily these encounters.

Just returned from 8 days at Ocean El Faro and we loved it. Two adults and 6 year old daughter booked Privelege and we all had a great time. The resort is clean and well maintained. The food at the buffett was always tasty with some different options every day. We ate à la carte at Sakura and Steakhouse and both were delicious. Maragarita restaurant was also great. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Our butler Jose was wonderful. The pool we went to (closer to the beach) was always pretty quiet and never busy. There were always lots of pool chairs available even later in the day. I do think Privelege is worth it for the extras you get. We are already planning out next trip!
