I liked the curb appeal and aesthetic of Coral. It was definitely evident that it was newly constructed. We just felt that the staff and their service was at times inconsistent. I don’t want to go into detail about that because it seems unfair to. There was a lot of staff members and many and most did a great job. Some parts and aspects of the hotel seemed confusing and miscommunicated… some parts felt over explained and other parts under explained - we didn’t really appreciate the fact that some aspects of the hotel were blocked essentially by what I’d call a “paywall” - it’s described as an all-inclusive experience but when you get there, our receptionist explained something along the lines of “there is a VIP program which gets you a room with a pool and access to more services but well, you already have a pool room and we are actually at capacity for the VIP so you don’t need it” I was like, “oh ok” it just so happened to be the first restaurant my family and I try to eat at is yes, VIP. So it just doesn’t feel good to get that kind of treatment after your fly into MX, go through customs, take a cab and then get where you want to be and get told “no” it’s a bit odd for an all-inclusive. And then the next day on the phone, they switched the narrative and said, “oh no, you have full access except for this one restaurant” overall, it felt a bit convoluted at times.
