We recently spent time at Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres, and overall, it was a beautiful, relaxing trip. The resort grounds are stunning and very well maintained, with a layout that’s easy to navigate. You’re never too far from a pool, bar, or restaurant, and it all just makes sense. Resort Grounds & Pools The landscaping is lush and tropical, and the beach area is a highlight—with plenty of tiki huts that provide a nice ocean view and lots of shade. There are several pools, including an infinity pool by the X-Lounge, and they all had ample loungers, umbrellas, and towel access. You could easily find a spot that felt quiet and private or stay near the action with entertainment and music. Kenneth, one of the pool attendants, was always around just before our drinks were empty—he made sure we stayed hydrated and happy. Activities & Entertainment There was never a shortage of things to do. From beach and pool volleyball to air rifle shooting, tennis, pickleball, kayaking, paddleboarding, and even water Zumba and spin classes, the options kept us moving. At night, the entertainment ranged from impressive circus acts to tribute shows (Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury, Bob Marley), plus silent discos for those into that. We also did the hydrotherapy circuit at the spa, which was a perfect way to end the day—especially the scalp massage overlooking the resort. I liked the restaurants, rooms and the facility. I didn't like the spa policy of not being allowed to use all the services offered at the location. You had to choose either sauna or steam room while you were paying $280 for the treatment and to use the spa. Management has a lot of work with staff. Staff had attitude, they weren't welcoming from the checkin in process and continued in most of the service areas.

Brand new 5-star hotel

Beautiful, brand new 5-star property. Rooms are large with great views, even basic rooms. Restaurants are great and there is only a breakfast buffet (all a la carte otherwise). Gym is one of the best hotel gyms I have seen, very complete. Pools are heated with plenty of seating, each with an umbrella. Service is good, but you can tell that they are still a bit understaffed as restaurant service was sometimes slow. Property is a bit "bare" looking since it is brand new, but the vegetation will grow in over time. Highly recommend.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay at the property. Our room was lovely—clean, comfortable, and spacious. There was a great variety of restaurants, and the breakfast buffet was particularly excellent. Most of the food we tried at the restaurants was very good. The only downside was the pool bar closing at 5:00 p.m., with staff beginning to clear things away as early as 4:15 p.m., which felt a bit rushed and inconvenient. We’ve stayed at three or four Excellence resorts now, and this one lived up to the high standards we’ve come to expect. We would definitely return!

Well I just had the most magical vacation of my life! Let me just start by saying that I’ve stayed at a lot of all inclusive resorts, including multiple Excellence Resorts (Playa Mujeres in Mexico, and EL Carmen in DR). By far Excellence Coral exceeded every standard creating the most incredible vacation for my two year anniversary. Keep in mind that this review was not paid for or requested. This resort just deserves a ton of praise. Not only is the resort brand new, it’s absolutely stunning. The resort is modern, every space beautifully decorated, each restaurant feels unique, elegant and elevated. Attention was put into every detail. The grounds keepers were always at work, the resort is kept clean and glistening. The pools were gorgeous, wrapping the entire property, sparkling and well kept. The beach was raked and seaweed removed. The view…just heaven! Coming from a Florida girl this says a lot! With so many adults only all inclusive resorts, trying to chose the best one can be daunting. I write this review in hopes of making it easier for you. This is our new resort home. 💕 The staff go above and beyond with exceptional service! Food and drinks are exquisite and elevated. Plenty of activities to keep you engaged, but also a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The gym is brand new and offers plenty of equipment. Expedia will not allow me to write a long enough review to say just how great this place is!

The property is looks amazing! Very modern, very well planned with centrally located restaurants and entertainment. Food was a 9 of 10, especially the restaurant, Magna. Rooms were very nice with great views. My only cons were: limited sink space, no ceiling fan in room, our room location. We were at the furthest end away from the pools, directly across from the theater (loud) and very near the housekeeping staging area (again loud at 8am)

Just returned from a one-week stay at Excellence Coral, and I can honestly say everything was simply perfect! Resort Grounds & Layout: The layout of the resort is incredibly convenient. The lobby and restaurants are centrally located, making it easy to get around without a lot of walking—everything you need is just steps away. The grounds are beautifully maintained and thoughtfully designed. Room: We stayed in a Club Pool View suite and couldn’t have been happier. The room was spacious and well-appointed, featuring a stunning walk-in closet, a beautifully designed bathroom, and a large balcony perfect for relaxing. Every detail was spot-on. Dining: The food across all the restaurants was consistently delicious. Pool & Beach: Both the pool and beach areas were fantastic. We especially loved the beach beds—they were extremely comfortable and available daily, which made relaxing by the ocean a breeze. Service: The service at Excellence Coral is truly next level. Every staff member we encountered was fast, friendly, and attentive. A special shoutout to Ricardo, one of the managers, who went above and beyond to address any concerns we had. He genuinely cares about the guest experience and made sure we felt valued throughout our stay. ⸻ Final Thoughts: Our week at Excellence Coral exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend this hotel. The beach was stunning and had reserved areas for Excellence Club members with beach service. All the restaurants were delicious but Raíces and Magna were definitely our favorites. The rooms were beautiful and our two story room with the pool was beautiful.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Experience with a Few Minor Issues We had a truly enjoyable stay at Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres. The biggest highlight was the staff—everyone we encountered was warm, friendly, and genuinely eager to make our stay memorable. Samuel, our bellboy, welcomed us with a smile, and Federico took exceptional care of us each morning at breakfast. Their attention to detail and kindness really stood out. The food throughout the resort was excellent, with consistently great service in every restaurant. Entertainment was another strong point—there was always something happening poolside during the day, and the evening shows were fun and engaging. We especially loved the Cinco de Mayo celebration on the beach and the high-energy Pure Energy show. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom featuring a huge walk-in shower. The gym had all the equipment I needed, and the resort grounds were clean and beautifully maintained—sure to be even more lush in the years to come. There were a few drawbacks: a strong sewage odor in the walkway to our room (resolved by our last day), limited vegan/plant-based options which impacted a member of our group, and a dress code that felt too strict for breakfast and lunch—especially in 90-degree weather at a beach resort. Still, these were minor in the context of an otherwise wonderful trip. We would absolutely return.

My wife and I had an amazing visit with some friends to try out the new resort. Estephanie and Isreal offered fantastic client service! The Excellence club benefit was worth it, it even included a free spa treatment that was out of this world! Being new, I’m sure they are working through some food quality and cosmetics issues. Even with that in mind; I would highly recommend this resort and rate it a 8/10.

My husband and I booked a last-minute trip to Excellence Coral for our honeymoon, and it was a fantastic decision. We worried it was a risk to book a brand-new resort, but it was incredible from start to finish. The food was delicious -- I'm a vegetarian, and while the menus initially looked slim in terms of options for me, they always had a tasty meal available that didn't feel like an afterthought. They were always ready to help make our trip special, including several bottles of champagne, breakfast in bed, late check-out, and even a surprise dessert delivered to our room for my husband's birthday. We got the two-story suite with the rooftop pool, which was private and quiet with a beautiful view. The activities, like sailing, yoga, and art classes, were all very fun, and the gym was very well-appointed with lots of top-tier equipment. We were so impressed with how clean and beautiful this property was, and we can't wait to go back! It was the perfect place to unwind after the stress of wedding planning.
