The space:
The maisonette was built in the early 1770s.
All rooms are on the Ground floor, and recently renovated with NEW centralized heating, toilets, carpeting, beds, mattresses, bedding, crockery, Painting, and more on the inside.
Garden - the property is a little more than half an acre of large garden space filled with ever-green plants, crab apple trees, a pear tree, a fig tree, a wall nut tree, and a large variety of English berries (Victorian berries, Raspberries, Loganberries and Silverberries). One can choose not to visit any public gardens, and lie down under the crab apple or pear tree reading a book, enjoying the sun, and sipping on a cup of tea, while we watch the kids play on the trampoline, kick the football around, or pick berries in the garden instead. There are plenty of chairs and garden furniture to laze around or have a family meal outdoors
Living room - The kitchen/dining/drawing room has an 8-seater table, with cutlery and crockery, and an inbuilt fridge, oven, dishwasher, and microwave. There are 2 soft sets as well with a smart TV, play station and a Pool table, with Indoor games to make your time special.
Bedroom 1 (sleep 4) - master bedroom with large Victorian windows overseeing the gardens, and a high ceiling with inbuilt closets and a fireplace take one back in time. Has 1 King size bed and 2 single foldable beds which are very comfortable, with newly laid bedding, and towels.
Bedroom 2 (sleeps 3) - this bedroom as well much like the master bedroom oversees the garden with large Victorian windows, inbuilt closets, and a fireplace. This bedroom has 3 single beds which are very comfortable, with newly laid bedding, and towels.
Bedroom 3 (sleeps 3) - This bedroom is road-facing, with large Victorian windows, inbuilt closets, and a fireplace. This bedroom has 3 single beds which are very comfortable, with newly laid bedding, and towels. Road facing.
Bedroom 4 (sleeps 2) - This bedroom is also road-facing, with large Victorian windows, inbuilt closets, and a fireplace. This bedroom has 2 single beds which are very comfortable, with newly laid bedding, and towels. Road facing.
Toilets - 2 fully functional new toilets with bathtubs and hot water.
Free and Fast WiFi – as we are near the center of the Town, so the WiFi speed is very good for working professionals.
Work Space – there is a separate workspace available.
BBQ Grill & Outdoor Firepit to make your day memorable is Free.
Parking - ample Free car parking space for 3 cars on the premises.
Pet-friendly – please bring your pet and have a lovely holiday. There is plenty of space at our property for pets. Pets can be taken for walks or pampered at an extra cost.
Kids-friendly property, along with Babysitting services can be arranged at a set hourly rate.
Toilets - provide standard Tesco shampoo & body wash, but do NOT provide paste, or toothbrushes.
Laundry - you can access the washing machine and dryer free.
Public or Private Transport - The bus stop is a 30-second walk from our house for buses into nearby towns, and into Reading Town center if required. The buses stop in front of the Rail station as well which is a 10 mins walk, or 6 mins bus ride through Reading town. We can arrange for Private transport in terms of a cab/van to the town center, nearby tourist attractions, or Airport pick up & drop at an extra cost
Guest access:
You can access the entire property. Our guests have a private entrance. You will have a neighbor on the top floor (with a separate entrance) with whom we share the garden space but rarely see. Please be respectful of the space and people.
Other things to note:
Please TALK to us about arranging anything from extra bedding, space to accommodate an extra guest, extra mattresses, household items, cooking items, transport, cleaning, BBQ, bonfire, early check-in, late check-out, etc. Anything to make your stay special.
Since the house is situated at the edge of the Town center on Castle Hill Main Road junction, this means despite the double-glazed windows, curtains, and soundproofing, there is potential for some ambulance noise, especially for bedrooms 3 and 4 windows that are road facing.
