Great stay but complicated arrival by car

Both staffing arrival and Mayo Clinic construction will continue to be a challenge for guests at the Kahler Grand for a few months. Hopefully more bell/valet staff can be added and arrival moved back to proper entrance. Until then arrival by car for registration can be chaotic/-once insid at the front desk, check in was a breeze.

Didn’t have bath towels when arrived at hotel. Towel arrived was torn in corner. Despite having do not disturb sign on door, housekeeping stopped by 3 times in less 24 hour period which was disturbing when trying to catch up on rest from late arrival.

The location is always the reason we stay at Kahler Grand. It's very convenient to Mayo Clinic. The front desk staff is nice, but often very busy and don't answer phone calls and long waits. The attached parking was full, unfortunately. The valet was very nice and accommodating, but left my car unlocked all night in the public ramp. I have app, so I was able to lock it when I realized it the next day. Rooms are basic. I like the cosmetic updates, but the bathrooms are so incredibly dated. Toilet flushing is so loud. No vanity.

The bed was a hard as a stone. The room was small and the AC did not cool the room all night. For some reason there are motorcycles with excess noise for several hours. I have stayed in other hotels in Rochester by Mayo Clinic and the same motorcycles noise has been happening for the past 4 months. It is very annoying it is not the hotel's fault but police should patrol and ticket that annoying show off.

Lots of construction around the building. You can no longer walk across to Mayo Clinic. The elevator does connect to the Mayo subway system. The hotel also has Mayo wheelchairs on hand. They offer valet parking. Parking is expensive. Keep this in mind when comparing costs. Construction is noisy during the day. It is a 5 year project. Restaurants on site are fantastic, as is room service. Staff are helpful and friendly.
