There was a short delay in our room becoming available. Room was a good space but on of the bedside lights was broken. It would have been better to have sachets of coffee and tea in the room rather than just tea, as I had the keep going into the kitchen each time I wanted a coffee. Location was good. Dining area was being renovated so we had packed breakfast provided. The mini croissants were always hard and not very flavoursome. Staff were generally helpful but there was an occasion where the desk was left unmanned for a time and no idea where the concierge had gone or when they would be back. A new guest had arrived whilst I was waiting and I left them there.

Simple hotel good enough for a 2 night stay. No facilities within the complex, only rooms. No restaurant, lounge area or recreational hub. Coffee sachets not provided in rooms. TV network is extremely slow and severely outdated. Location is convenient and my stay was quiet.

Comfy, No-Frills Stay in the Heart of Rotterdam

Booked this hotel pretty last minute as most other options were super expensive due to the North Sea Jazz festival or had terrible reviews. This wasn't cheap but it wasn't extortionate. It's approximately 15mins walk from Rotterdam Centraal station and most other amenities so pretty convenient and easy to get around town from. Looks a bit gritty from the outside but I'd say that's just Rotterdam's aesthetic; a good city with grit. Very down to earth; not for those seeking glamour. The room I was in was comfortable. Was quite small though. I think 2 people in that room would be a struggle. The bathroom was very clean as was the bed linen. The floor could've been cleaner. The pillows were very uncomfortable as they were square and plump like sofa cushions which didn't make for great sleep. The staff, which were many over the 3 days I stayed were friendly and receptive. Would I stay again? Yes. Great location, nice staff, gritty but clean and budget-friendly.
