That 24/7 minimart alone deserves 5 stars. Kinda incredible. Great selection and totally fair prices. Honestly, why don’t more hotels do this? The location’s perfect, and the staff were genuinely pleasant. Only downside is that it did get a bit noisy sometimes. But still if I’m in Rotterdam again, I’m booking here again without a doubt.

Room was clean and spacious with plenty of surface space to put our items. We used our bar fridge, coffee maker, kettle and were pleased to find a bottle opener in the room. There was a microwave in the lounge that we used to heat up our meals from the grocery store. The room was quiet for sleeping. Easy walking distance from Central Station and Metro stations as well as many other tourist sites and shopping. Front reception were polite and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

All staff at the reception are welcoming, willing to help, polite and pleasant. The location is great and easy to access to the train station. There is a kettle and coffee machine inside the room so it is convenient for us to make coffee & tea every morning. We highly recommend this hotel.

Pleasant stay

We stayed for two nights at the James Hotel and were impressed with the room, facilities, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. There was also sufficient staff on duty for the guests they had. The central location was very convenient to all we wanted to see and do in Rotterdam. One thing to note is that it is a busy road outside the hotel and our sleep was disturbed by excessive car honking late at night both on Friday and Saturday nights. Whilst this is outside the control of the James Hotel, it is something to be aware of. And bring ear plugs.
