Quick family get away

Had an issue with the room but the staff was very friendly and made sure it was resolved. Location was beautiful and the pool awesome. Will definitely be back!

My partner and I have stayed here in on six previous occasions over three years. Finally the Beachwalk hotel has made some necessary improvements in terms of staff service and providing complimentary coffee, cookies, beach towels, chairs, etc. The seasonal outdoor tiki bar restaurant also conveniently located. They need to serve a full breakfast. You book this hotel for the private beach that is a walk across Ocean Avenue, but you pay a premium for the rooms with the balcony and ocean view - this is the room that we have been getting over the years. These rooms, however need upkeeping - repairs of ceiling stains and damaged walls. Also the rooms need a full length mirror.

The wifi had no internet connection. The deadbolt on the door didn't lock (scary!) and there were no switches to turn off the 2 lamps in the room. It felt like they under delivered a bit for the price. I get it's a beach front hotel with a pool, so I probably wasn't the right market haha!

We were disappointed. Our bathroom had mold above the shower and there was a bunch of mosquitos in the room. We had to switch rooms it was supposed to be a 2 day stay we only stayed for one due to the room conditions. The pictures I saw online we not the room I was in.

Owner should take better care of the space

So overpriced. $320 for one night literally just because it’s across from the beach. The photos confused us because it looked more updated and upkept. This hotel needs a total face lift - it’s a shame how the owners are keeping it. I grew up in Monmouth beach and was just staying there with my partner while we visited my parents and were close to the ferry back to the city. I always thought it would be so cute but honestly this ain’t it.

The only good thing about this hotel is that beach is near by. There’s is no safety at all. The door lock from my room wasn’t working. I complained to the manager, they didn’t do anything about it. I couldn’t even sleep the whole night normally because it didn’t feel safe. Besides that was no light in a room, was dark like in a tomb. Pool looks dirty and disgusting I didn’t risk even to step there. And bar was closed too, but when you check in they sand you kind of like a welcoming text message which kindly invites you to enjoy food and drink from the bar. When you ask reception they confirm that is closed on week day or something. So overall very bad experience, be careful, check your room before you stay there , it might be tricky and management doesn’t help only bla bla bla

The location is great and it has a few perks. You are able to use the facilities of the hotel if you can get there early as well as after you checkout. The new tower is really nice. The older rooms are OK if you are only spending a few days.
