The staff were amazing and the room was very clean. The view from the room was amazing. The only fault I could give was the WiFi was very inconsistent. Sometimes it was adequate other times I couldn’t get any signal and I wouldn’t be able to stream on the lowest settings without it buffering constantly.

We were a bit disappointed with the hotel and with the unexpected parking charge of £5 per day to park 60 yards away in an unsupervised stony yard. The hotel room was clean and well decorated but the cleaning service was not too good ie towels not folded in morning, tea bags not replenished, bed not made up very well. The Dining Room was nice but the service was disorganised and it was obvious that the coach party there at same time was their main priority. We were informed that a 6.30pm evening was available and that we were allocated a table for the stay, however after the first day they changed the time to 7.00pm without informing us and we were told just to sit anywhere there was an empty table. The service was hit and miss, I heard several guests commenting to the waitresses they had been waiting half an hour for their food. The furniture in the lounges was old and tired with split leather seats and worn carpets. We would only rate this hotel 3 star at most and will not be returning and will not recommend this to any of our friends.

Unfortunately the food let this outlet down. Very poor. Staff were all very nice, very helpful. Overall an enjoyable stay but the hotel does appear to be in need of an update.

An island icon that needs some updating for sure. The rooms are very basic and small, and it feels more like a dorm set up than a proper hotel. Having said that the staff were lovely and Harry’s bar is as awesome as ever.

The Royal Esplanade was the perfect spot for our stay in Ryde. It is just across from the main bus transfer spot to get the Breezer and Coastal buses. It is clean and has an excellent cooked breakfast included with the rooms. I will stay there again when we return to Ryde.

This is a really nice hotel. It is retro in some good ways, with a very friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast is superior. The location can't be beat. The only irritant is the Wi-Fi, which is spotty on the ground floor and almost non-existent in the upper rooms.

Small room. Decor tired. Carpets stained. Bedside lampshade water stained and had dried on food. Bathroom only had hand shower. Breakfast servers were disorganised. No fresh fruit or grapefruit as advertised.

Lovely stay, very convenient location, close to everything. Staff was nice, great breakfast (amazing view btw!). It may be considered an "old" hotel but it's very well kept and charming. Lots of TV channels, although it wasn't my main priority when booking, but might be interesting for someone else. Won't hesitate to book them again on my next stay.

Staff are good but property is old. Hence they are limited to do any improvements. Hence no WiFi in rooms and our TV in room was not working when we checked. Got a replacement which was so small TV. So no entertainment and there is a pub nearby which is very noisy at night.

An excellent hotel for those visiting the IoW travelling from Portsmouth, I had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is on the Esplanade and therefore a short walk from the pier or hovercraft terminal. The rooms are clean, and the shower works without any need to play with the settings. Breakfast options are good and the food is well prepared and served. The staff are very friendly and helpful, making the stay a most pleasant experience. If you like a large sandy beach, then Ryde has one of the best. The hotel is near to the bus terminal and the train station, so travel to the rest of the Island is a breeze.
