We were greeted by a lovely guy who made us feel very welcome. Room was impeccably clean and very nicely decorated. The covid changes that have had to be made didn't affect our stay in any way. The Gallivant is a peaceful, friendly and very quiet hotel. I would stay here again!!

Relaxing atmosphere. Happy staff. Warm. Rooms in verygood condition . No gym. Not cheap. Curdled milk and bottle to be removed. Water jug and glasses charged.

Gorgeous rooms, amazing service, delicious food

We stayed here to celebrate our birthdays & our anniversary & we couldn't have loved it more! Our room was gorgeous & we'd highly recommend staying in the Luxury Garden Rooms - they're super cosy, with a big comfy bed, a lovely rolltop bath & double doors that lead out onto a cute decking area. The interiors of the rooms - in fact the whole place - are the perfect balance of modern, quaint, quirky & beach chic. The service was amazing - everyone was so friendly & attentive but never intrusive. Kelly in particular was so lovely & no question or request was ever too much! The food was incredible!! We had the fish platter on our first afternoon, shortly followed by the complementary afternoon cake - both were delicious! We had dinner here on our 2nd night & the food, wine & cosy atmosphere were second to none - honestly couldn't fault it. The beach at camber sands was literally a couple of minutes walk away & was beautifully deserted at this time of year - perfect for a peaceful walk (especially if you have a dog). Rye is an 8 minute drive from The Gallivant & is well worth exploring. We ate at The George in Rye on our first night & had lunch at The Fig - would recommend both. We'd stay at The Gallivant again in a heartbeat!
