David was very accommodating as we arrived in the middle of the night directly from the airport. The location is quiet with a peaceful little garden, but still in walking distance of the central market and busy downtown area.

Good start and end for a trip to CR

Really good option, at walking distance to the city center. Staff is great and welcoming, and the place is a great place to start or finish (or both) a trip to Costa Rica. The place has a 'good-hostel-vibe', has an associated parking garage nearby (at a cost) and it is safe and quiet. Rooms are spacious and clean. Just be aware that restrooms are shared - which were not specified when we first made the reservation.

Great hostel-style option in a nice neighborhood

Good hostel-style option, in a nice nighborhood, not too far from the city center. Staff is friendly and ready to help, there is a kitchen avaialble for use and also a fridge downstairs. The only down side is that bathrooms were shared and that wasn't specified at the time of reservation.

2 person private room was comfortable. It is a house and shared Bathroom was clean. Staff was polite and helpful as I needed Covid test information to return to US. Neiborhood was safe to walk to local restaurant.

Helt okej för en natt

VÀldigt trevlig och hjÀlpsam personal som pratade bra engelska. De serverade en god frukost (omelett och fÀrsk frukt) som vi Ät pÄ bakgÄrden innan vi skulle Äka vidare. SÀngklÀder och handdukar var rena men rummen var slitna generellt. HÄrda sÀngar och vÀldigt lyhört bÄde ut mot gatan och övriga rum. Vi kom fram ganska sent pÄ kvÀllen sÄ vi utforskade inte nÀromrÄdet utan gick och la oss direkt. Fungerar för en natt helt enkelt.

Ostello dotato anche di camere per coppie e famiglie con bagno condiviso, arredato con gusto e con grande capacitĂ  di recupero di materiali (pallet per basi letto e divani e rulli per cavi elettrici come tavolini) con un gradevole giardino frequentato da varie specie di uccelli. Charmante auberge familiale

J’ai couchĂ© deux nuits Ă  Eco Stay CR Ă  mon arrivĂ©e au Costa Rica. C’est une sympathique auberge conçue et tenue par une famille locale situĂ©e prĂšs du quartier Escalante (bons restos) et pas trop loin non plus du centre (10 min de marche du MusĂ©e national, 25 min de marche du marchĂ© central, 30 min de marche des terminus d’autobus comme MUSOC, Tracopa et TUASA). Les indications de Google Maps sont exactes quant Ă  la localisation de l’auberge, donc Ă  dĂ©faut d’une adresse, se fier Ă  Google (y compris en taxi)! J’ai couchĂ© dans un dortoir Ă  quatre places. Le matelas affaissĂ© n’était pas des plus confortables. Par contre, il y avait des casiers pour nos objets de valeur (apportez un petit cadenas!) ainsi qu’un balcon. Le quartier est tout de mĂȘme assez bruyant, avec le train et tout, mais c’est sans doute moins pire qu’au centre. Tout Ă©tait d’une propretĂ© irrĂ©prochable pendant mon sĂ©jour. L’auberge possĂšde un jardin oĂč il fait bon prendre le petit dĂ©jeuner ou s’attarder le soir avec les autres voyageurs, un coin fumeurs et un salon avec table de billard. Les voyageurs peuvent utiliser la cuisine pour se faire Ă  manger (sauf au petit dĂ©jeuner). Les points positifs : le balcon dans la chambre, le petit dĂ©jeuner frais cuisinĂ© tous les jours, le jardin, le caractĂšre familial de l’endroit. Les points nĂ©gatifs : le mauvais matelas (dortoir), le bruit de la rue, la difficultĂ© de s’y rendre par ses propres moyens quand on ne connaĂźt pas la ville.
