The place has beautiful ocean views, spacious pools, and a water park appropriate for the location. What makes it unpleasant is the customer service, and everything related to food is terrible. To check in, you're guaranteed a 40-minute line, as they only had two or three people serving visitors. Due to limited restaurants, I immediately asked for reservations, and there was only room at the "Spanish" restaurant. The dishes were limited, so I ordered a paella and asked the waiter if it was fresh, and he said yes. It turned out they were rice pizzas; they are prepared like pizzas and baked. The floor was very dirty with food. At Ventanas, a Puerto Rican restaurant, the menu is from a food truck. I went for breakfast, and the wait was 45 minutes. The waitress told us she had called us, when there were two of us, and neither of us heard her, and she scolded us for it. I'm sure she jumped us... At the brunch service in the hallway, the wait was similar, but the food was cold and of the same quality as any "chinchorro" or cheap cafeteria in the area. There was a lot of accumulation of plates with leftover food. Ferry trips to Palomino, according to their advertisements, have trips every half hour. This wasn't true, which is why I imagine they don't publish the schedule. During one of the returns, they had people stranded for about an hour and a half. The people who attend this service are very rude and unsympathetic.

Absolutely loved it here. We stayed without our kids, but will definitely be visiting next time with them. There is so much to do for both kids and adults. The only thing I would say is they needed more stuff. You can definitely tell the restaurants and bars were understaffed, but I also went during spring break. Other than that we had no issues. It was absolutely beautiful.

This was an absolutely beautiful resort! Everyone was incredibly kind and accommodating. The resort amenities were unbelievable and great for a family with children. From golf to pickleball, tennis, games, pools, waterpark, and beaches we will definitely be back.

Very nice, but expensive considering everything is an additional expense aside from the Pools and Palimino Island. Also, the Ferry service to Palimino Island is not frequent enough. This resulted in long lines and waiting periods.

El Conquistador is HUGE! It is beautiful. Things I loved: The water park, Palomino Island, the swim up pool bar, the spa, the rooftop bar, the daily, varying activities-day & night. Things I did not like: Service, food took long to come. Over priced. The many areas of the resort also range in quality. We had a standard room in Las Brisas, which seems to be an older not recently renovated area of the resort. The room was clean, had a beautiful ocean view and was spacious for our family of 3. However, there was no fan or ventilation in the bathroom there was a musty smell from the towels or something/somewhere. The doors banged and many people did not respect closing the doors softly especially at night or early in the morning. Walls were thin and I could hear loud and clear/word for word conversations in the room next door so much so I thought people were standing outside our door talking and I opened the door to tell them to be quiet to discover it was the next room and I was hearing it through the walls. There was also a large chunk of the wall out outside our door on the pillar between our room and the one next door. Finally, I will add the cost of dining was over the top expensive! And the food was good, not great, and not worth the cost of what they were charging. For example a main fish dish of scallops was $68.00. A meat dish was $120.00. These are fine dining, Capital Grille prices and the quality of what we received was not equivalent to the cost.

The property is absolutely beautiful. Phenomenal place for families at the pools- beach and water park. However, getting to the beach is a 10 min ferry ride, and only one boat- kind of a nightmare standing in the heat waiting for 3 hours- unacceptable for the amount of money you pay to stay there!
