Towels were not cleaned, and the shower didnt have hot water. No elevator, and the surrounding area seemed unsafe

I did a last minute trip to San Juan so I was afraid I would be stuck in a janky hotel but to my surprise the Somos Hotel was wonderful! The hotel manager, Clark, was amazing and although you see to be right in the thick of it all the hotel was quite safe. One downfall to this property was no on site parking. But overall I would rate my stay a 9. If you want a unique place to stay Somos is it.

We loved the staff! Each and every one of them made sure that we had everything we needed, down to recommendations. One of the men on the staff went above and beyond by helping us bring all of our luggage down the stairs. Our suite was beautiful, and we felt safe our entire stay. Not to mention everything we needed was walking distance which made all of our uber rides between $4-$12 everytime. I will be booking again.

Still Working Out the Kinks

This is a cute, affordable boutique-style hotel. More like a hostel than a hotel, really. But my room wasn't ready when I checked in – even though I arrived an hour after check-in. I had to wait about 40 minutes in a lobby that had nowhere for me to sit while my room was made up. Clark, the manager, was very apologetic and explained that a housekeeper had called out sick that day, but it was still a big hassle. Then, after finally getting into the room, I discovered the TV didn't work. I I understand this is a new place, and they're still working out the kinks. The location is terrific – it's a short walk from Condado and the beach. And the rooms are clean and comfortable. But no one wants to get off a long flight only to have to wait an excessive amount of time for their room to be ready.

Great set up for exactly what you need! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pillows and bed were on the firm side. Other than that great place to stay. Central to many locations including the beach!!!

Our room was very cute and cozy-very clean. I loved the provision of a robe, slippers, eye covers, and ear plugs, as well as soap and shampoo. The hotel is located right next door to a club so you could hear the base and the music. Additionally we were in a room located off the lobby-we could hear other guests very clearly at all hours of the night because of the acoustics-talking and doors slamming. While it was manageable for two nights-I wouldn't choose to stay there again unfortunately.

This place is adequate for a solo traveler and I loved the location for a bit of local flavor. It was very clean. The only drawback was the nightclub underneath very loud at night.

Unfortunately I stayed there during the island black out and they did not have a generator. Two & a half days no electricity or plumbing. They did not offer any compensation.

I had no hot water access for the entirety of my stay. My room did not have a window, even though the listing pictures showed a room with windows. Room service did not tend to my room for three nights. The walls were thin and I could hear conversations from the next room clearly. The staff were helpful whenever they were present, but my stay in this place was not ideal. It was a Hostel more than a Hotel.

Do Not Stay Here!

Terrible stay — Card charge ahead of time even though we requested to pay at property; Room size not as advertised Thin walls — we could hear neighbors and patrons down the hall; No hot water during entire stay; Patrons got robbed and room broken into, lots of police activity, we felt unsafe leaving the room and staying there in general.
