My husband and I stayed in the suite and it was wonderful! The sunroom in the middle of the suite as you walk in is stunning, and it’s right next to the Basilica Menor de San Juan Bautista. It was also walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants, which was very convenient. However, there is no dedicated parking or elevator in the hotel so that may be something to keep in mind while staying upstairs in the suites. Regardless, this hotel is beautiful and I recommend staying here!

Hotel is conveniently located in a good area. I would say it’s not made for big and tall people. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The bad part was the water temperature in the shower. It was either cold or super hot that can easily burn your skin.

If you like the vibe old san juan and renaissance, this is hotel for you, walkable to all the restaurants and bars, would not recommend renting a car because parking in old san juan is difficult. Quiet and clean hotel. The AC is strong as well, good for summer.

This was such a quaint, adorable, cozy and romantic spot in old San Juan! We absolutely loved our stay, it was quiet, incredibly comfortable and the rooftop terrace could not have been cuter!!!

Charming Stay in the Heart of Old San Juan

Villa Herencia Hotel was a lovely spot for our stay—exactly what we needed. The location is perfect: tucked away from the busy main roads, yet just steps from everything in Old San Juan. It offers a peaceful escape with easy access to the city’s charm. The room itself was cozy and the bathroom was very clean, which we appreciated. That said, I do wish the room felt a bit more “finished.” The walls and ceilings had an intentionally raw, unfinished look that I assume is part of the aesthetic, but it didn’t fully land for me. It may appeal to others who enjoy that kind of rustic charm. Overall though, it’s a unique and comfortable place to stay, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a boutique hotel experience in a prime location.

This hotel is an affordable alternative to the pricey neighboring hotels. It is absolutely PERFECT for a specific type of guest. The guest who doesn't mind the absence of a lobby, a pool, restaurants, etc. The staff was lovely. The room was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and large, with colonial-type decor that made me feel like I was a high-ranking general in the Puerto Rican armed forces in the 1700s. The bed was delicious, the AC was as cold as I wanted it to be, and the property was quiet. It's absolutely perfect for a lone traveler or a couple who simply need a beautiful and romantic place to stay. All the other amenities typical to hotels can be had within walking distance, as the hotel is located in the heart of Old San Juan. Highly recommend it!

This property is beautiful and so castle-like I loved its charm although hidden it was worth it. Dinning, shopping, and club bars are all at a walkable distance. Only used Ubers to go to mall and T-Mobile District which are about a 15 minute ride. Room was well air conditioned as comfortable. A must stay. I will be referring to my friends and family. The best part is that we arrived early and could leave our luggage so that we can start exploring. We lucked out and got an early check in because our room was ready. There was a small fee but nothing bad, we got to rest and refresh after a 4 hour flight so it came in good time 👌💕😎

It’s a beautiful and accommodating experience. It is close to everything in Old San Juan. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay.
