When we first checked in, we were mistakenly assigned to a room that was already occupied. To our shock, our keycard unlocked a door to a room with guests already inside. We immediately returned to the front desk and were assigned a different room. However, the experience was deeply unsettling, it raised serious concerns about guest safety and privacy.
I asked the front desk staff for reassurance that no one else could be mistakenly given access to our new room. Unfortunately, their exact response was, “I cannot guarantee that, there are a lot of people that come in and out of the property.” This was extremely alarming.
After a long day of travel and a late check-in, we decided to stay the night out of sheer exhaustion. However, we spent the night anxious and uncomfortable, worried that someone else might walk in at any moment.
This property failed to meet even the most basic expectation of guest safety. I would strongly urge management to review and improve their room assignment and keycard protocols to ensure that this does not happen to others.
