Very nice staff, good and plentiful breakfast and an excellent dinner. Everything including the spa and pool area was top notch. Directly connected to O'Leary from the foyer was an extra plus ;) . There was several sitting areas for chilling and even a separate, well equipped children's room. A great stop while avoiding the traffic around Stockholm when travelling through the country, thought it's definitely a good stay for the closnes to skiing, and hiking etc.

It was 36 degrees and very humid. The hotel had no air-conditioning, we got to borrow a mini fan from the reception. It was not possible to sleep in that heat untill about 1 o'clock at night.

Hotell Smedjan är ett fantastiskt hotell. Bra mat, jättefin frukost. Trevlig pool bra gym. Personalen är jättetrevliga. Ett tips till barnfamiljer i familjerum dock, om ni blir placerade på våning 1 , be att få ett rum högre upp. Vi kunde inte sova pga musiken från Olearys vibrerade i rummet. Jag var nere i receptionen halv ett och fick 4 par öronproppar av den snälla receptionisten, vi blev erbjudna att byta rum där och då, men det hade varit en väl stor apparat mitt i natten. Men vi blev kompenserade när vi checkade ut, så personalen skötte det klanderfritt. Men om sömnen är viktig och ni skall göra något tidigt på morgonen, be om ett rum högre upp i hotellet. Annars var allt toppen, kan verkligen rekommendera hotell Smedjan.

Här är en förbättrad och mer flytande version av din hotellupplevelse: Jag hade en mycket trevlig vistelse på hotellet, som på ett charmigt sätt kombinerar gammalt och nytt. En av höjdpunkterna var att middagen ingick i rumspriset – både smidigt och prisvärt. Maten höll bra kvalitet och bestod av en mindre buffé med huvudrätt, ett vegetariskt alternativ samt soppa. Det fanns även nybakat bröd, vilket var ett extra plus. Hotellet erbjöd dessutom fika mellan kl. 15–17, vilket också ingick i priset. Det serverades i den mysiga ateljén, där det även fanns ett bra utbud av brädspel och böcker att låna – en väldigt uppskattad detalj. Frukosten höll en bra standard och hade det mesta man kan önska. Spaavdelningen var trevlig, med både bastu och pool, och det fanns även en bar där man kunde beställa dryck och koppla av. Hotellets centrala läge gjorde det enkelt att ta sig till olika sevärdheter och aktiviteter. Rummet var rymligt med ett stort badrum, och kändes både bekvämt och inbjudande. Sammanfattningsvis en mycket positiv upplevelse med flera fina detaljer som gjorde vistelsen extra trivsam.
