Fantastic spot. My room was gorgeous and I’m a spoiled traveler. Felix is the go to guy to get things done. I wasn’t feeling well. His English is great as is Caesar. Some of the counter staff don’t speak English so that was a drawback. Great food. Great atmosphere.

Very few times will you have the opportunity to stay in a hotel property that's 500+ years old. The building and grounds are beautiful, the bar and restaurant are very good, and the staff is fantastic. The rooms are rudimentary in keeping with the colonial decor. You are essentially staying in a 500 year old structure, after all. But they are clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are late 80s/early 90s style luxury, but well maintained and spotless.

My stay at Hotel Hodelpa Nicolás de Ovando was absolutely fantastic! The service was excellent, the staff was attentive, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure my comfort. The hotel itself is a stunning blend of historic and modern elements, with the architecture truly standing out. The colonial-style design adds so much character, and it's a privilege to stay in such a beautifully preserved, centuries-old building. The atmosphere is both elegant and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Santo Domingo.
