The water smelled like rotten eggs, after a shower my wife and i smelled like rotten eggs, and the entire house smelled like rotten eggs. The house was not maintained. The deck boards are fragile, railing broken, smoke detector was removed. The front steps are crumbling, no privacy as there were no curtains or blinds, the two they had didnt work.The patio furniture was filthy and wicker was rotted out so you couldn't use them. The rwo plates we took out had food on them. Disher didnt work. When i complained i was told the water was out of her control. She never mentioned the water issue until the afternoon of our arrival. Then insisted it was healthy. Bo thanks to that smell or slime on our skin. The lack of maintenence ruined our anniversary gerway and after i requested a refund for the night we didnt stay.....we left a day early (came late friday spent day out and left at 7am sunday to go get a shower.......she has not responded to me or VRBO. I emailed and left her voicemails and no response, apology, or refund.

Hudson River house

We had an amazing time at the house. Kaveri was very easy to get ahold of and answered all of our questions. The view of the river was incredible and the property really felt very secluded and private. We so wish we had access to the river from the property but the rocky rivers edge made it pretty inaccessible. Would still highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful location

The view lives up to the pictures - it's a stunning location at the end of a long private road - very quiet and lovely. The house is well-appointed from a furnishings standpoint, with a couple of quirks and age spots, but nothing major for distractions. Biggest things to note - bring the little things you might want, especially for food, etc., because there isn't much around to run out to (which is a plus in general, but when you wish you had milk for your coffee...), and light sleepers be warned - the beautiful sun-drenched master becomes sun-drenched very early with the sun over the river in summer. (The second bedroom is much darker for those who need that.) In all, a good spot in a good location - perfect if you want to grab a book and sit on the long porch overlooking the river.

The property has an excellent view of the Hudson River from the house. The photos of the property and listing need to be updated. The walkway leading to the outside sitting area by the River is overgrown and steep. The road, and driveway to the property were also rutted & overgrown with branches that could not be avoided in many areas.& hit our vehicle. I would not drive down this secluded road, and driveway without a 4-wheeled vehicle. They did not provide extra linens, or blankets for the beds and at night the temperature did drop. They offered a dishwasher, but it was rusting with debris inside. Handwashing was a must. The listing offered a washer & dryer. When we arrived it said you needed to contact them prior to use and they would communicate the additional cost. We pack accordingly based on the availability of those 2 items. It would have been helpful to know this was an added cost prior to walking into the house.

Awesome stay in the woods

Amazing property that felt completely isolated with trees around us. The best part was the view! Almost every room looked right out to the Hudson and it’s something you can see all the time. This place was perfect for a nice getaway and we definitely would stay again. Book it - you’ll love it!

50th Anniversary on the Hudson

The Hudson River House was as promised. The view was fabulous. The house was modern, clean, and had almost everything we needed. The suggestion to bring bottled water, for coffee, ice and cocktails came after we arrived. Would also suggest more towel racks in master, and warn that the hot water is really HOT. We would highly recommend the property. The location is convenient for exploring the Hudson Valley.

Views were great cleanliness and safety issues

The views are spectacular, the front brick steps have been covered with thin set and are cracking and breaking off very unsafe. Hot water was scalding hot way above 140 degrees. After 7 days we stripped the beds as asked and the mattress cover in downstairs bed had a stain on it either pee or water either way cleaning service should have seen this and changed it out. The lovely dining room table was sticky and not even wiped off. The dishwasher was full with dirty dishes and not ran. These all are items that the owner should address with the people offering these services. They can be taken care of simply. The house as i said and view are fantastic just has some issues that should be addressed.

Perfect few days

We had a nice peaceful time here. The house is very comfortable and well-equipped, and the hosts are great. Two things to note are that the private road in is not maintained; it did not see a snow plow so the ice on the road made it difficult to access for a day and a half, until it thawed on its own. All wheel drive is helpful in the winter months if you need to get somewhere (which we didn't), also the well water is good for washing but not for drinking; bring bottled water for your coffee, etc. But these were minor compared to the very nice time we spent in this house and the magnificent view of the Hudson.

Peace and quiet with great views

This property is a great location for a peaceful, quiet vacation. Located next to the Hudson River, with two decks that offer excellent views of the water, makes a great setting to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine as you watch the scene before you. Seeing sun rise, the tide ebb and flow, and even the ships and barges sailing by gave us just what we needed. The spaces inside were clean and roomy. The master bedroom offers a spacious setting with many windows facing East to allow the sun to gently wake you every morning. A nice cup of coffee, my favorite book in hand, and a comfortable chair on the deck is a great way to start your day. The town is just a short drive where you can amuse yourself with quaint shops, cafes and bookstores available. I highly recommend this property for anyone needing some peace and quiet while also being close to town.

The best decks in the world!

Stunning, secluded property with the most restful, beautiful decks! The office was perfect for one person to work, and the location can't be beat--8 minutes to HITs or town, driving partly on secluded dirt roads that added to the joy. We didn't want to leave this gorgeous place. The owners were amazing--texting back immediately when we had any questions. Thank you, and we can't wait to come back!

Beautiful Setting on the Hudson River

This fabulous property is located down a private road right on the Hudson River. It has spectacular views of the Hudson River. The house is modern and has a well-stocked kitchen. There are so many personal touches with décor and music etc, it feels like home. The upstairs master bedroom suite is a sanctuary with a super comfy bed, spa shower, soaking tub and its own deck overlooking the Hudson River. Kaveri and Paul are very responsive and so helpful. We highly recommend and would love to stay again.

All About the View

And what an amazing view of the Hudson River and beyond. The house is right on the river. Modern, comfortable, it is ideal for a couple although there is a second bedroom. Very private, down a half-mile dirt road. Gorgeous kitchen and amazing master bath. Cozy sitting area, huge TV, a lifetime of CDs. Recommend highly.
