Room was passable, hallways were musty & unclean, hoovers left in hallways both days we were there and the hallway outside of our room had what was left of someone’s hair extension trod into the carpet for the two days we were there..I did not see any housekeeping on either day.. Staff were okay, the leisure facilities were awful.. pool was cloudy and freezing cold, steam room was broken, the sauna was okay..changing rooms smelled like there had been a dirty nappy in the bin for days and wasn’t very clean.the bedroom was clean and tidy beds were clean and comfortable but there was no toiletries provided so make sure to bring your own..downstairs the reception area and bar were Pleasant, we didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening but we did for breakfast and that was fine..breakfast staff were nice and helpful..the best thing about this hotel is its location..the food and drinks are reasonably priced and you get what you pay for with the stay..unfortunately I don’t think we would stay again unless the hotel made some changes to the services they provide and maybe a little bit of a refurb.

The hotel itself was lovely. However there was dust on the floral arrangements that people had drawn on , we reprted it to the cleaners and they just wiped out the pictures but didnt remove the dust. The staff were super friendly and knowledgable about the area. The location was great. Good price .

Booked a family room for august bank holiday - was expecting us to all be crammed in one room but was pleasantly surprised to have two bedrooms and a bathroom along a private corridor. Entrance hall and stairway are beautiful. Fab views from the bar. Reviews that say the rooms are a bit dated are fair but I think it's good for the price and location.

Stayed for two nights, upon arrival the room we had booked had an issue which meant we couldn't possibly stay in the room allocated, this was quickly resolved by the receptionist and because they were fully booked and couldnt switch for a room like for like, we ended up with a suite which was an added bonus and made our day! Positives - great staff, generally clean, central location yet quiet. Cons - no parking The hotel is slightly aged and heavily used as many are in this area, we found the room to be of clean standard, stocked with toiletries, well equipped with amenities such as hairdryer, fridge, iron, kettle, coffee maker, t.v's etc. I am doubtful we wouldve have recievd all these with the room we originally booked but this added to our stay. All in all a pleasant stay for a couple of nights and would consider returning as I am confident that any issues encountered the helpful staff will do their best to resolve them :)

Lovely hotel, had a very nice 3 day stay, best room was the lounge/bar which was very relaxing and comfortable,very close to cafe,s,shops,pubs and tram to get to beach. Will definately stay again. The only problems i We had was that we paid extra for sea view room and it was at the side of building so could not see beach very well. Also no cutlery or plates in room to eat meals. Also on advertisements it said you could sit outside on balcony overlooking beach but we got told we couldnt use it through the day as a wedding was on but fare enough we waited and was told it would be open to use later but then it was closed all the 3 days we were there as a safety precaution. But staircase was lovely and staff were too and i would definately book this hotel again to stay. comfortable

Some way short of 3 stars

Lovely staff but hotel could do with a huge facelift. Lobby is nostalgic but sockets hanging off the walls bring you back to earth with a thump. Tinned fruit for breakfast was a nice twist.

Outside entrance bin full overflowing building looks old and paintwork looks worn but interior is good clean and pleasant. Room was good clean and pleasant. Bathroom did not have an expelair fan so when using shower steams up. Because windows cannot be opened in room lots of condensation on windows in evening and first thing in morning.breakfast was very good, Overall good would stay again.

I liked the ambience of the property. I didn't like the bed cos the mattress wasn't comfortable. Please consider the changing the mattress as we had body aches after sleeping on it.
