We had a decent stay at the Element overall. The hotel amenities were as described and it was pet friendly. The only reason we’re not giving it five stars is because we had a rather unpleasant check in experience. When we got to the hotel, we were told that since we booked through Expedia, there was some issues on their end and they were sold out for the night and they would accommodate us at another hotel for the night. When we told them that we had dogs, and the hotel they’d put us up in wasn’t pet friendly, suddenly a room appeared and we were allowed to check in. This felt deceptive. The room itself wasn’t thoroughly cleaned, although not unlivable, and when we requested a clean the next day, we were told we would get half off first night stay and they would clean the room the day after. However, the room didn’t get cleaned our entire stay. When we complained at check out, the manager offered us another comped night. While it shouldn’t have come to this, we did appreciate that they worked to promptly refund us. Also, the breakfast experience could be improved substantially by inclusion of plates. There were no additional plates available except at the live station and everyone was scrambling to find plates.
While our stay could have been much better, we really did have a good time and a pleasant stay and we appreciated the kitchenette set up, the pool, the gym, and the overall friendliness of most of the staff. We will likely be back!
