Spa & Wellness The spa is the highlight—Eka is incredible. She worked on my back, and I left feeling 80% better compared to the 20% I walked in with. Easily a 5-star experience Food & Breakfast Breakfast was a disappointment. Unless you show up right at 6:30, the food is cold—no heating dishes meaning pancakes, waffles, and potatoes turn hard quickly. By 9am, many options are gone. Instead of feeling relaxed, it feels like a race just to eat. Dining Service Service is inconsistent—sometimes attentive at lunch, other times indifferent at dinner. Food quality outside of Indonesian dishes is poor; even simple items like pizza fall short. Pool & Facilities The pool is extremely small. If you leave briefly, your towels are removed and your spot reassigned. The cabana setup feels more like a beach club upsell than a resort perk. Rooms are also not soundproof—you can hear footsteps and conversations from next door. Amenities: No small towels, you have to call for it. Robes are dingy, towels are scratchy, and the “king bed” is just two twins pushed together, leaving a hard ridge in the middle. Guest Treatment The most concerning issue is how guests are treated. I witnessed different treatment based on skin color, and staff openly chiding children in front of parents, telling them to stay quiet—on a vacation. Very disappointing. Highlights Eka at the spa deserves full recognition, and one pool attendant was very kind, though I didn’t catch his name. Room is spacious and clean.

We had the best stay at Montigo Resort! Staff were very hospitable and welcoming. Our room was super and comfortable! Loved it! We had pool access where we could just walk out our balcony and jump into the pool! The hotel is surrounded by lush tropical gardens it really feels like a private retreat! We loved our stay here!

Room required total upgrading. Toilet seat must have been 100years old as it was yellowing and marked on all surfaces. Sink, mirrors, doors, cabinets all required replacement.

The staff were so lovely, they knew our names by the second morning, they celebrated my son’s birthday and could not be more helpful. The front pool had a great vibe and we ate the breakfast, lunch at the restaurant and dinner at the on-site Japanese restaurant and the food was exceptional. The location was great for shopping and restaurants, a few dollars on a Grab got you to the beach or you can catch the hotel shuttle!

Our second stay here and we had a balcony suite. If you have worn out knees I do not recommend a balcony suite because the stairs are steep & unfortunately there is no lift where we were. We were disappointed by the removal of a lot of sun beds and ALL umbrellas around the middle pool. The sun beds have been replaced by Cabanas that you have to spend a minimum of $300,000rp ($30AUD) to use and this prevented us from using the pool because the remaining sun beds were all taken and there was no shade. The rooms are clean and need refreshing - our A/C was noisy with a rattling fan that was rectified after reporting to maintenance, the fridge was very noisy & we had to turn it off each night to sleep and the tap ware in the wet areas were all corroded along with poor water pressure. This Suite did not match the our previous experience in the ground floor Suite that we stayed in back in March. We will not be returning to Montigo in a hurry because we cannot enjoy the pool with the lack of shade and sun beds or chairs.

Be aware this property backs onto Mrs Sippy Beach Club. Rooms to rear of property are affected by noise. If you wish to relax on your balcony, it is not possible. Housekeeping hit and miss,

staff were lovely and went out of their way to make sure my stay was enjoyable. had good knowledge on food intolerances, they had gluten free bread and even offered to make me my own gluten free nasi goreng at breakfast. room was great and spacious, and they left me a lovely surprise for my birthday stay.

Loved this little place, great location, very well kept gardens, very green and lovely surroundings. Family pool out the back is excellent and mixed use pool area at the front also very good. Travelled solo this time but will be back to stay here with my family next trip.
