We really enjoyed staying at the Somerset. The staff was very friendly, the location is great being right next to Insadong and all the nearby neighborhoods and restaurants. The room was very big considering the price which even had it's own washer/dryer. Our only complaint is that there didn't seem to be very many electrical outlet locations for charging our devices but other than that, this was a great hotel. We would definitely consider staying here again when in Gangbuk (North of the river).

Hotel in best location

Family of x4 perfect room as 2bedroom with kitchenette and x2 bathrooms. Quiet stay except if windows open hear protesters as embassies near. Also a Buddhist temple next to hotel with early morning drumming, gongs and chanting. Close the window at night. The staff in all areas were polite and welcoming especially the breakfast area which the food was tasty and a great variety. Location was perfect for the palaces, Insadong and close to Subway for all over Seoul. Highly recommend this hotel.

They were so helpful and kind and accommodating. The location is great and parking is super convenient and easy. We stayed once and then stayed again for longer. Breakfast is free and delicious and not too much. A lot of people stay here and for good reason! Would 11/10 recommend again!

This apartment hotel is very clean and spacious. I especially like the washer and dryer, allowing my family to wash the new clothes immediately before wearing them the next day. The breakfast is very good. It is also close to a subway station.

Loud noises at night time and early morning from 7AM. We stayed 3 nights; first night the fire alarm went off at 4AM (false alarm) for more than 15 minutes, second night there were thousands of protestors on streets nearby, singing and chanting, very loud until midnight. The Temple nearby is loud too. Just all kinds of noises. It's convenient location to the Palaces and the breakfast is awesome.

I have stayed at this property as needed for the past DECADE. Admittedly, it was a very comfortable and nice stay 10 years ago, but now it is quite dated and in need of a touch up... Firstly, our room was not properly cleaned. The toilet bowl was stained PINK = bacteria. It was not cleaned. Really disgusting. Secondly, the towels are HORRIFIC. They REEK of old water/sweat/gym towel/dirty yoga mat. Luckily, we brought our own face towels, and that saved us from rubbing these gross towels on our faces at least... Thirdly, the bedding was ripped in certain spots. Are sheets that costly that they cannot be replaced??? Same goes for towels. I mean, I know the whole hotel's worth of towels must add up. And who knows how old they are, but they definitely need replacing! Next, the bathroom sink faucet/tap is a two-handle tap style (for those who dont know what this is - hot and cold water are controlled separately by two knobs) very uncomfortable to use.. and the hot water was SCALDING and the cold water FREEZING! so beware when letting your littles wash up on their own. Upon getting to our room, we of course let concierge know and requested a cleaning of the bathroom. This took a while to complete the request. Inconvenient and annoying given we couldnt use the toilet until they came - much later. Overall, we used to like staying here for the convenient location and familiarity and comfort, but unless they get a serious revamping of this whole property, we'll stay elsewhere.
