There are many excursion destinations in the area, including to the old Viking castle Trelleborg, Slagelse with pedestrian zone, cafes and shopping, or Stillinge beach, which is very lively in the summer. Slagelse is also home to one of the oldest barracks in Denmark, so every Wednesday you can see the Hussar Guard riding through town.
