Please be our guest! Sandy Shores has been in the Hall family for over 60 years, and is currently owned and operated by Myrtle Hall. Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage (vrbo/78339) followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores!

Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. Her attention to detail and cleanliness makes Sandy Shores a unique and charming retreat.

Sandy Shores is a very unique “slice of old Florida”, with lots of flowers, palms, lounging areas, privacy, all with a relaxed vibe. There are only four units on the property and three of them rent on a weekly basis – so most of the time you have the whole place to yourself.
The Gulf Cottage is a single story, one bedroom House, very private, quiet and clean with a spectacular, unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico. It has a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa.
The kitchen has everything what a chef would wish for, a big fridge, dishwasher, microwave and stove included. The bathroom has a bath tub / Shower.

Behind the Gulf Cottage and landscaped courtyard is a two story building – the top floor I reside in – with the PATIO and GARDEN Cottages below.
The Patio Cottage has a King Bed and Queen Sleeper Sofa, the Garden Cottage has a Queen Bed and a Queen Sleeper Sofa. Both have a full kitchen with stove, fridge and microwave. The bathroom has a bath tub / Shower.

I had an amazing stay! From the moment I arrived, the host was incredibly attentive and welcoming—making sure everything was perfect and that I felt right at home. The cottage itself is comfortable, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay.The beachfront location is absolutely stunning—just steps from the sand with gorgeous views and peaceful surroundings. I especially loved relaxing on the patio, enjoying the sea breeze and sunsets.The convenience of nearby shopping and restaurants made it easy to explore and enjoy the area without any hassle. Truly a perfect spot for a beach getaway— I can’t wait to return!

Absolutely beautiful grounds, and you don't even have to leave them to see sunset! Great lounge chairs to catch some rays, either on the beach or right there on property! Having Myrtle living on site was a comfort, knowing if you needed anything, she was right there. Very sweet woman who made us feel at home. The cottage itself was fully stocked and just perfect for the 2 of us!

Wonderful location and gracious host!

My husband and I stayed for a few days. We had a wonderful experience. Just steps to the beach and you cannot beat that. Several restaurants in the area to walk to. Just overall a lovely place.

A Little Slice of Paradise

Our stay with Myrtle at Sandy Shores was fantastic! We stayed in the Patio Cottage and had everything we needed in a cozy cabin-like atmosphere. We enjoyed the beautiful lush gardens and the spectacular sunsets. We met several other guests while there, who were all repeat guests, that shared their love for Sandy Shores with us - and we now understand why. Staying here is like a warm hug. We’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful Getaway

Sandy Shores was a perfect place to soak up the sun and enjoy a balance of peace and quiet and activities. The Patio Cottage was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. A king size bed, cable tv, internet, kitchen, bath, grill, patio and right next to the beach. Good restaurants within walking distance. Our hostess, Myrtle responded to emails and texts and really made us feel welcome. Our area did not feel overly commercial and had a nice neighborhood feel. It was great and we would do it again!

Vintage gem that survived the hurricanes…the gardens are being restored to their former beauty. Exactly as pictured. Very clean, pleasantly surprised by amenities like coffee, beach towels and supplies.

Absolute Gem

There are not enough words to describe how amazing Myrtle and her homes are. The place was beautiful, very clean, and an amazing location. You really had everything you needed within walking distance. Myrtle was incredibly friendly, very thorough in her tour, and easy to communicate with. I wish we had more time to sit and chat with her. We came for a wedding and were quite busy most days, but that is the one thing I regret, not getting more time to chat with Myrtle. She is absolutely amazing! We had #2, the Patio, and it was perfect for the 2 of us. It had a very comfy king bed and 2 pull out sofas. There was more than enough built-in storage and closet spaces to accommodate all your luggage. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook, open a bottle of wine, and clean up after yourself. Myrtle provided wifi passwords and cable, or you could log into your apps. Even though we came in after 2 very powerful hurricanes, you couldn't tell. She had the place in tip-top shape like nothing happened. Some plants were damaged, but she had new ones placed around, and you could tell she takes great pride in her units and the garden. It was stunning! I can't wait to see it next summer! You have a short paved path, and then you're on the sand of Indian Rocks Beach. What more can I say. You can leave your unit barefooted, walk a few feet, and have your toes in the sand. You couldn’t ask for a better place. Stunning location!

Beautiful garden on the beach

Sandy Shores provides everything one needs for a great vacation in IRB. Myrtle is a gracious and helpful host. The apartment is clean, well-maintained, and full of character. The garden is lovely and provides comfortable places to relax, the beach is on the doorstep, and great restaurants are nearby. We've visited three times already and we look forward to returning.

Perfect little cottage!

As soon as you step foot onto the property it’s evident Myrtle takes great pride of the diamond she has! She made us feel at home and showed us all around the property. Excellent communication, check in, check out, location to restaurants, stores and most importantly located directly on the beach! We will be back next year for sure!

Paradise

Beautiful slice of paradise. The grounds are impeccable as are the cottages. Myrtle greeted us with a tour of the grounds and was so personable. The cottage we rented was just what we needed. The first thing we noted was how clean it was, not a speck of dust/dirt anywhere. We had wanted a peaceful getaway for the two of us to relax and it was perfect. Just a few steps to the beach, we love Indian Rocks Beach! Restaurants within walking distance were a plus. It was a perfect getaway! Thank you, Myrtle you were a wonderful hostess!!

Sandy Shores Indian Rocks Beach

The apartment was so cute and clean. I just love the pine wood paneling. It really felt like the old Florida beach places I stayed as a kid. The garden on the property is beautiful. We had everything we needed right there. It is a very lovely property and I highly recommend.

Fantastic Stay!

Sandy Shores is probably the best place we have ever found and will return here for future vacations! We were greeted by Myrtle as soon as we arrived. She showed us around the entire property which is very well maintained and a beautiful site to walk out to every morning. We stayed in the Patio unit. The unit was very very clean and provided everything that you would need just like staying at your own home. The view was amazing. It is very few steps to the beach. There is a laundry unit on site. We never drove anywhere. Everything is walking distance behind the unit. (2 to 3 min walks) Myrtle was a fantastic host and was there anytime that we needed her and was around just for daily chats. I don't think you can get more accomadating than this. Please make Sandy Shores your next vacation destination!
