I wasnt a fan of the overuse of air freshner in the room. It was overpowering. Generally, the room was looking a bit tired. The staff were very nice and worked hard to make the stay pleasant. Dinner was good.

The hotel was a great find and will definitely be back. The room was clean and warm, the bed was very comfortable and a good selection on the tea tray. The evening menu was a little disappointing as both items we asked for have been removed from the menu but the room menus have not been updated. Breakfast was good, we both had full English which had very good fresh ingredients. Overall, the staff and hotel were excellent

Would definitely go back. Superb staff, everything's clean and spacious. Great food. Single only bit of negative feedback is that our bathroom was very dated but still clean and well presented so certainly not an issue.

- [ ] A little disappointing. Super busy on arrival which is expected for a Sunday before Christmas. Check in was fine, once you got someone’s attention. Room was nice. Spacious and well appointed. But for dinner, no one knew where our booking was for, no one came to tend to us so we moved tables. Twice. Ordered at the bar and mains were lovely. Hot and quick to come. We then waited over 45 minutes for (terrible) deserts (which was an un set chocolate mousse which was more like a flat, gritty angel delight, and a ‘Christmas pudding’ splodge the shape of a sausage roll with the texture of jam). By this time the place was empty. Seemed there wasn’t enough staff to cover the many areas of service. And if there was, they weren’t organised at all. Rather cheeky when 10% is automatically added to the bill for service! Sad as the place is lovely, busy, very dog friendly and the food was great. May just be bad timing, as it was the busiest place by far in the town centre. Plus, it was a completely different story thw next morning, with attentive, friendly service, good food and a lovely atmosphere.

Very busy primarily due to wedding. Very long wait for food. E.g we tried to order a cup of tea Saturday afternoon and was told 40min a wait. We didnt bother.

Really lovely spacious room with lots of character. Loved the old fire place and welcoming music on the radio! Nice shower and clean bathroom. Very friendly staff and lovely food in the bar. The Swan is one of my favourite places to visit in Stafford
