Just about ok

We stayed at Hampton by Hilton Stansted and unfortunately hit it on a chaotic night — we arrived at the same time as a full flight of passengers whose plane had been cancelled. The result: absolute pandemonium. We waited around 40 minutes just to check in, and the restaurant was completely overrun — packed, noisy, and not a relaxing environment at all, with kids crying and people everywhere. The breakfast, while free, was underwhelming and felt more like a box-ticking exercise than a proper meal. That said, the location is ideal for the airport — you really can’t beat the convenience if you’ve got an early flight. I imagine it would be a decent, functional stay under normal circumstances, but based on our experience, it was hard to relax.

Stayed ahead of early morning flight. Hotel is convenient and efficient. Beds not hugely comfortable. Breakfast starts early and it's a 5 minute walk from the terminal so main reason to stay there. The staff we encountered were friendly.

Good in lots of ways, but hotter than the sun

The Hampton is very close to the airport which is a godsend for an early flight and it’s pretty clean and comfortable. The staff are really sweet and very helpful, preparing a breakfast bag for me as I was leaving before breakfast. Sadly I had a terrible night there as my air conditioning unit was broken, and the window wouldn’t open. I think it was about 30C in my room throughout the night. The staff gave me a fan and ice buckets which helped, but it wasn’t ideal at all.

Duty manager a little abrupt when checking us in. I couldn’t understand why we were asked for id to check in. Despite having booking on my phone etc. wasn’t explained well. I don’t recall seeing that when booking, gate to think what would have happened if didn’t have ID. Room good, could have been more choice at breakfast ie eggs and coffee machine poor

Perfectly fine for a stay before or after a flight. A bit more of a walk than I realised, but in hindsight it wasn’t terribly far, j had just arrived from 24hrs of flying so was ready to settle in. One thing to note, there isn’t a mini fridge. Which didn’t bother me and I hadn’t checked if there was before I booked.
