Unfriendly staffs from reception at the hotel

Booked a double bed room for 3 nights 2-3 months advance but checked into 2 x single beds room initially without any explanation until we questioned about it and next day the staff has changed to a double standard bed room. The girls in the front desk were unfriendly and no basically customer service. Breakfast was good and staffs were helpful in the restaurant. I will not recommend this hotel to my family or friends

The welcome was spot on, efficient and friendly could not fault the young lady on reception. One bedside light in our room was not working, reported this immediately, reported again at breakfast and again later yet it was not repaired. The hotel is beginning to shows signs of being rather tired, bedroom furniture scratched, very small areas of mould in the bathroom and stair treads taped etc

Set in lovely surroundings near to Stirling University. Access to building was good. We had booked an accessible room which was a long way from reception through carpeted corridors ( not easy for pushing wheelchairs). Bar area was on two levels and all areas on lower level were occupied. Staff member did offer to move people around but we declined. Decided to take our drinks to entrance area. Shower room was ok size but had a tiny wash basis - try sitting in a wheelchair and washing your hands and your lap would get very wet. Also mixer tap not working properly which meant we couldn’t get any cold water only lukewarm - no matter how long we let it run. The rooms looked like they needed some updating but I didn’t feel the price reflected this. If programme of updating is due then I think more consideration needs to be given to the location of accessible rooms and the facilities within them. We did leave these comment with reception but have not heard anything since.

Pleasant surroundings and comfortable room. Easy parking. Our sleep was disrupted by inconsiderate noise outside the room late at night.

A handy stopover.

It was good value. We are old and allocated a room on the second floor. There wasn't a lift but we're not complaining.

Monika, the front desk clerk greated me with a big smile and a welcoming demeanor. She made my check in seemless. She even showed me how to make local calls on my US phone.... Saving my vacation!! If I ever get the chance to come back to Scotland...I will be back!!

Nice surroundings but depressing & tired!

I arrived late (21:30) & there was nobody at reception, i was tired & desperate for the toilet after a long wet & dark journey, in the the end I spotted where it was & went in & after coming out the receptionist was there to sign me in. The noise from other rooms I walked past was crazy! There was literally zero sound proofing, I could just hear people talking as clear as if they were sat at the next table! My room was ok just a bit run down with the shower head not staying in place meaning I had to lean against the wall for it to get me. The worst thing though by far was the TV! There were two remotes! One to change channel & the other for the volume, this disnt matter though as there was a big message superimposed across the screen which wouldnt go off no matter what I did & the remote to change channel didn't work anyway! I ended up sitting in bed watching "Youtube" on my phone! Before leaving I raised my complaint to the receptionist & was told "I'll get it looked at! Clearly its been looked at as before as theres a worn sticker on each remote saying what it does (or doesnt do) I was up & out for work in the morning by 7am & glad that I didnt have to suffer the 3 nights my colleagues had there!!

A bit tired

I have stayed in this hotel a lot,as its central to Stirling,in the most glorious setting within Stirling university campus, always peaceful and in walking distance to bridge if Allan, even Stirling and Dunblane. I was a bit dissatisfied thus tine, arrived around 1pm to offload bag check in at 2pm ,so went for a wee walk around, got back around 2pm room not ready, this is a big bugbear of mine,it seems that although we have to checkout at 10am,it takes 4 hours to ready our rooms. Room a bit tired,no usb sockets,a bit strange for a university hotel.no cold water,I was given some bottled water and told it would be fixed next day didn’t happen As also I did enjoy my break but I might go elsewhere next time just for a change.

Bed wasnt bad, a little hard for my liking. Room was clean and I had a view of the wallace monument right out my window. Getting to the room is a chore as even though it is a newer and large hotel there are no elevators. Good tea selection. Served my needs. When I was leaving one of the workers saw me with all my bags, ran up and took my suitcase for me. That was much appreciated. Food from the restaurant is good.
