A good hotel but some aspects a bit lacking.

The hotel is a very good standard in terms of style and decor and the reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. I wasn't very happy with the water pressure in my room; the shower wasn't at all powerful and it took almost 15 minutes to fill the bath to the point where it was worth getting in as the water came out so slowly! The pool and jacuzzi were clean and pleasant, however there was nowhere to sit and relax near them so it was a case of a quick dip and then back to the room to get dry. It would have been really nice if there were some loungers to lie on in the pool area. The food in the riverside restaurant was very nice but a couple of the staff were not as professional as I would have expected. Tje bar snacks were very good and the young man who served me was very pleasant and professional. Overall a good stay but unfortunately I felt some aspects were lacking.

Great loaction for the town centre.

Great hotel in a great location. The hotel is in very good condition. service for breakfast was excellent. we did not have the same experience for dinner when the team both on the bar and in the restaurant were not aware of customers waiting. There needs to be stronger leadership on the evening service. Dinner was Ok for £145 for 3 having 3 courses, this feels steep for average food.

Expected Better

Excellent hotel in an ideal location to visit Stratford upon Avon and surrounding area. I would have given this a 5 star rating had we not experienced a couple of not so pleasant incidents. Firstly on entering our room I noticed that the waste bin had not been emptied of a discarded water bottle and several tissues, presumably left by the previous occupant. The matter was reported to reception and dealt with immediately, but that was poor housekeeping and should have been emptied when cleaning the room before our arrival. The rest of the room was however clean and the bed very comfortable so can overlook that unfortunate incident in isolation. We had dinner in the hotel and I ordered the fishcakes, which arrived cold. They looked like pre frozen shop bought fishcakes which had clearly not been heated through properly. Apologies were given and an alternative offered but I declined. My wife had the crab linguine which was really good. Warm and tasty with plenty of prawns which she really enjoyed. We had previously shared the halloumi fries which again were very good. The hotel kindly said they would not charge me for my meal. Just as well as I would not have paid it anyway. They also waived the service charge. We were charged and did pay for everything else we ordered. The hotel has a spacious bar, great terrace and large dining room and could not fault the facilities at all. An otherwise excellent hotel and the staff were polite and welcoming.

One night stay for wives Birthday

Booked this for a quick get away for the wives birthday. We arrived early and had coffee then wine in the suntrap of the hotel gardens. The outdoor areas are quiet and a real bonus for this hotel. I think it has had a recent refit judging by the signs and quality of the hotel, all areas are lovely, nothing tired about this hotel. We paid for half board and got a three course meal in full, and judged the food above the normal, more top restaurant than pub chain. But the Hotels top card is its location seconds from the tourist areas of Stratford. We do a lot of this sort of thing and it got us thinking about about the best stays and hotels, we have came to the conclusion, when we look back this will be up there with the best. Not often a hotel with the best value exceeds your expectations, but this stay certainly did that. If I am splitting hairs the pool could be bigger, but it was certainly big enough! This hotel shouldn't disappoint, just go for it.

An excellent stay. Very convenient for being tourists in Stratford. A very comfortable and well appointed room. An excellent breakfast really well presented. All staff very enthusiastic and very customer focused. Well done to all concerned. Only downsides were 1) very low water pressure meaning that you had to ‘run around’ in the shower to get wet, and 2) little or no soundproofing between rooms - we could hear distinct conversations within adjoining rooms (even though the guests were certainly not excessively noisy)

Property was very good, clean and easy to get around. The staff were friendly and informative. The idea of the deck chairs on the back lawn was good but I would suggest if, having them out under trees they are cleaned more often due to bird droppings. Food was very good and the bar area was relaxing and not too busy. All in all a pleasing couple of days.

Comfortable - Met Our Needs

The bed was very comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water but the pressure was not as good as at other hotels we have stayed at but was still okay. Our room was near the lift so had the constant lift ding all night plus the sound of other guests talking in the hall. Other than that there was no exterior road noise to be heard. The Club Lounge was fine but located on the ground floor with the other dining facilities and not on a Club floor as you’d expect. It was small but comfortable; and the canapés provided in the evening were of an acceptable standard. It is supposed to be 24hr access but when we went down to have a cuppa in the morning, they’d blocked access to the Lounge with a conference banner which was annoying. If you like your TV, just be aware that they only have the basic channels. Also, be aware that there is a £12.50 charge for parking at the hotel each night (24hrs).
