Don’t stay at the Luna Inn.
Two hotel essentials for me:
- The room needs to be clean.
- I need to be able to sleep.
The bed was unusable - the mattress felt like a rolled-up towel was twisted through the top layer. My partner and I managed about one hour of sleep.
Other issues:
- AC broken. Room was very warm. When we opened the window, there was a strong smell of marijuana.
- Neighbours extremely noisy all night - dragging chairs and repeatedly banging on walls.
- Safe didn’t work.
- Coffee machine provided, but no coffee, creamer or sugar.
- Curtains too small to cover windows; had to use exterior shutters for privacy.
- Shower barely functional.
- General facilities (sauna, etc.) all out of order.
As our trip was only three nights, we booked another hotel nearby to salvage it. At reception, the staff member was slouched at the desk using his phone. I politely explained the issues and requested early checkout. He showed no interest, took the key card, and simply said “Okay.” No discussion of early checkout fees.
I reached out to Expedia, who attempted to contact the hotel regarding a refund for the remaining two nights, but Luna Inn did not respond to calls or emails.
We paid for three nights, received an unusable room, and were unable to obtain any response about a partial refund.
A very disappointing experience that effectively cost us a third of our short trip to Stuttgart due to exhaustion.
