Room 213 has the kitchen extrator fan outside of the window. Very loud until 1130 then started again at 0530. No warning of this when checked in, staff not to worried when mentioned in the morning.

Room noises due to faulty slamming fire doors from Dining Room. Evening meal very nice and reasonable prices. Breakfast was poor quality as sausages overcooked and barely warm and bacon also very overcooked. Made to sit in Lounge area to eat breakfast when dining area was empty. No Internet tv service at all. Sorry but not what I would expect from the Mercure brand.

Could do with a touch up …

Staff on reception very helpful. Room was ok-ish The pipe for shower had black mould on the bend, could be cleaned a lot better. One of my light switch was broken. Bed was clean! Air con didn’t work Not a good idea to put GB News on main TV, when I pointed that out to a member of staff, they didn’t realise someone in hotel changed the usual channel (non bbc). This was changed back.

Beds very comfy and perfectly crisp cotton sheets. Plenty of extra touches, tea, coffee and herbal teas as well as decafe options. Shower wash and body lotion. I would recommend this hotel.

Liked the fact the welcome by reception was pleasant and check in was easy. Hotel location is great and easy to find with free parking in the hotel car park. Free WiFi is a bonus. Only negative I could find was the poorly performing coffee machine in the bar area next to the restaurant. The cappuccino setting only gave half a cup. It would be nice to have the option of a cup of coffee or a mug of coffee.

Easy check in and check out. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was really good and breakfast the following morning was equally good. We had a superior room which, although small, was clean and had everything we needed. The only minor issues we had was working out how to turn on the bedside lamps and bizarrely how to turn on the tap in the bathroom! Overall I would recommend the hotel and would also stay again if in the area.

The first time we have stayed here. Very quiet and really enjoyed our evening meal on the Saturday evening. I did ask reception on our first day if the safe in our room could be made to work (possibly a new battery). We were never told it was still not working. Would have been nice to have been told and also had to carry all my cards, handbag etc all the time whilst having breakfast/evening meal.

A good base for a weekend!

Lovely, friendly receptionist and quick check in. Room a good size, clean and tidy. Unfortunately rather warm the weekend we visited but windows to the room did actually open (!) and a good size fan was provided. Did not eat at hotel so unable to comment on that, but overall a pleasant stay.

Lovely room, terrible breakfast

Firstly the room was excellent. Comfortable bed, good bathroom and shower. Lots of extras in the room eg fan for hot weather, heater for cold, fridge, safe. Staff were either brilliant or terrible, with nothing in between. Either charming with nothing too much trouble, or totally disinterested with no acknowledgement we were even there. Breakfast was awful. Don't understand why a hotel would serve a cooked breakfast which was cold, not once but 3 days on the run. Cld food, cold plates, and when we complanied it was suggested they might warm it up, presumably in the microwave. We would be very unlikely to stay there again.
