Needs help
I booked for anniv. Then 2 days before checkin, i received a cancelation notice,because they tried charging me before hand. Even thou i opted for pay @ hotel on arrival. I had an ocean view room. I spoke to a rep and was assured that my reservation was still good ,so i paided the nxt morning. I was later contacted , that the room was no longer available after i had already paided for room?! They worked with me and later gave me the beachhouse for same rate. Good for that. But no oceanview at all. Whats the point on having the option to pay on arrival. They stated that it was their process to charge 1 nights stay before the stay. Which isnt stated on either hotels.com or castillos del mar website. Very unprofessional. Had to carry luggage about a block from car. When the original room was within steps🙄. Im not picky, but this kind of ruined my anniversary plans! But since it was 2 days from event i couldn't find anywhere else. That being said. The service was slow. And seemed a bit unorganized on the part of the waiters. Ive been to other hotels in the area, and the service was alot better. The food wasnt excellent also, and was $$.Not to mention the beach access is basically paided access. Ive never complained about a place ,but this place needed some better organization. Almost ruined my whole weekend. Basically your paying for the view.
