This hotel is a great place to stay. The location is very convenient to Ueno and all that comes with that area. It is all very walkable but if that’s not your thing the ginza line and the yamanote line are both right there.

Overall clean rooms, good layout with just enough space, good service. Lobby is always crowded with lugages. Going to my room was a little off putting as all the bags of dirty linens were stored outside and around my room door

The rooms were clean, quiet, and the curtains fully sun blocking, which made this a restful break from busy days of exploring Tokyo while being within convenient walking distance of quite a few train stations.

APA Hotels are located all across Tokyo, making them a convenient choice if you’re looking for a comfortable and budget-friendly stay. The staff were kind and helpful throughout our visit. One thing to note is that additional amenities, like an iron and ironing board, need to be picked up directly from the front desk rather than delivered to your room — a slight inconvenience, but not unusual for many hotels in Japan. The team was also very accommodating in storing our luggage for us while we enjoyed breakfast and some last-minute exploring before departure.

Great location that's walking distance to both Ueno Park/Zoo and Akihabara, but also far enough away that it's quiet when you'd want to be sleeping. It's not the closest ever to a train station but also the roads to get there are flat so it's not hard to drag a suitcase or two around. I found the bed to be very comfortable and the pillows to be firm but not uncomfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful! The only thing to note is that the room itself was on the smaller side and didn't have a view. This didn't bother me much as I basically was only there to shower and sleep. (Also I'm pretty sure there are other rooms in the hotel with a view if that's what you're after). All in all it's a great place that's close to the action without the action being in your business when you want to sleep! 10/10 would recommend and stay again!

This hotel is in a fantastic location and walkable to Akihabara as well as as Ueno's markets. There are no frills. Quiet. It is clean but they do not clean your room besides every few days, which is pretty standard for hotels in Japan I've found. They dropped off hygiene bags (towels, slippers, robes) every day. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming and I appreciated them speaking English with me as as a tourist. The room is the smallest hotel room I have ever been in, which barely enough room for the bed. The bathroom felt like being in a slightly bigger airplane bathroom. I didn't mind the size of the room but I could see where some would feel a little cramped. Wifi worked great. We walked a few blocks to get to any train station. The only time I was like ??? was when I opened my door to put our full trash can outside the door and the housekeeping staff was cleaning the room next to ours. She saw me sitting the trash bag outside of my door and got frustrated and waved her arms in a "no" motion and repeated "NO MORE TODAY" over and over again. I felt like I was being scolded lol. I brought the trash back into the room but was frustrated because there wasn't much room for anything let alone a small bag of trash. Other than that, it was a great stay, great rate, great location.
