I have stayed at a Resol hotel in Kyoto previously and that was an excellent experience! So I came in expecting a clean room and comfortable bed. Unfortunately I was quite shocked by the overall condition of the room. Stains on the walls, bathroom smelt strongly of urine, tap not functioning properly and some of the amenities (USB charger) were broken. I informed the staff of these issues the next day and asked whether they could please send someone to thoroughly clean the bathroom (housekeeping offered every 4 days!). They were very apologetic and moved me to a different room which I'm incredibly thankful for. I decided to cut my stay here short. There's also no laundry room (the only hotel I've stayed in Japan to not offer this!). Overall my stay was ok... But I've stayed in much more cleaner/comfortable hotels at the same price point hence my dissapointment. I think the hotel is need of refurbishment.

Right by 2 convenience stores and Sunshine City. Lots of dining options around, about 10-15min walk from the station. Would stay again if I'm in Ikebukuro.

Just like my stay last year, Hotel Resol Ikebukuro went above and beyond to make my stay great! The location may be a bit away from the station, but that also meant the area is pretty quiet. The easy access to Sunshine City is also awesome! The rooms were clean, and the bed was very comfortable. If you’re a foreign traveler, definitely give this hotel a try!

It's around the corner from a train station. As tradition, there is a convenient store 10 steps away from the building. It's also 5-10 minutes of walking away from downtown Ikebukuro.
