Across from Meijer which is convenient. Unfortunately, I only seen it was surrounded by food places, but they all have terrible reviews. None above a 2 star. Never thought I needed to check those, but now do. Parking was easy. Asked for room close to pool, making it easier to manage two kids. Got a room down the hall. However, this room must not be used often as it had a mildew smell, spiderwebs in about every corner, baseboards dirty, wallpaper peeling, and chair was stained. Was able to open window to get fresh air in and turn on AC to circulate- but the vents are also covered in dust. Microwave had part where rust was showing. Went to pool and was happy to see towels provided on tables. We knew the pool was small, however, didn’t expect an indoor pool to be so cold! Thankfully the Room showers provide great hot water and pressure. The light in shower showed above dust collect above ceiling, and no vent to get steam out of the room. Decent sized hole by the TP holder. No clothes line in the shower to hang wet swimming suits. Overall, would we come back? No. Did it work for one night, yes. Bedding was clean, and beds comfortable. TV selections lacking. Can’t join internet unless you create an account with hotel brand. No garbage bags in room garages- sucks for whoever has to clean those.

Check in is listed at 3. We were at an event and checked in at 6:30. Our room was not ready. Another family in our party had the same issue. Very disappointing. We were exhausted from our outside event—85° all day and wanted showers and the air conditioning. In the morning there was only ice available on the second floor.

Check in was terrible. Arrived at the hotel to check in a litte afte 6pm. Was told our room would not be ready for another 2 hours. Mind you check out was 11am in the morning. The party we were withs room also was not ready. We were told that there was a staffing shortage. Mind you therr was the championship ARCA race that weekend, which the hotel was aware of ypu think they would have had staff. Absolutely ridiculous. My bathroom door in my room would not close all the way, the room darkening blinds in both room would not close all the way. Poorly managed. They comped us Absolutely nothing for our inconvenience.

Not what I expected

Checking in was poor. They had an issue with key programming that caused guests to return to the front desk because they couldn't access their rooms They needed more staff to avoid long waits due to this but didn't have them. The room smelled of smoke and it seemed like maybe it was the pillows. Also one of the toilet paper roll holders was pulled out of the wall. At 10 PM loud couple arguing in the room next door. Stopped and started again at midnight. Finally had to call the front desk. That worked. They quieted down. All in all I expected better.

It’s a beautiful property, and beautifully kept inside and outside. Staff was very helpful and gracious in every respect. We would stay there again if headed through Toledo. The surrounding neighborhood is away from the downtown and is pretty much commercial industrial in character, and only 1 mile from the Michigan border.
