Perfect!

Pros: Everything. The location, the rooms, the food.....
I really can't praise The Somerville enough! Located just a few minutes from the harbour, this is an exceptional place to stay - run by the brilliant team of Peter & Helen. From the moment we were greeted by Helen, we felt so at ease. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with wonderful furniture and furnishings. Nothing is too much trouble for either Peter & Helen or their lovely, friendly staff. They all make the running of The Somerville look effortless, but you can tell by the amount of attention to detail around the place, that this isn't so. The breakfasts are varied and all the food is sourced locally - which tastes amazing. Helen bakes scrumptious cakes which are left out for guests everyday - another nice personal touch! Trust me - if you want a relaxing, slightly indulgent break, you can't find a better place than The Somerville!

a getaway but not too far

Pros: friendly, attentive, helpful, without being intrusive.
Cons: one minor point, the lighting in the bedroom would benefit from a dimmer switch (I emerged with a tan on the top of my bald head).
My wife and I had decided on a few days away from work and the demands of grown up children. We were met (in the car park) by Peter and Helen who immediately made us relaxed and at home, showing us around the guest house and expanding upon historical details when required. Five days flew by assisted by ample breakfasts, complementary home made cakes and valuable insider information on places to visit and dine; the room was comfortable and was miraculously tidied and cleaned during the day. We accomplished the peace and relaxation which we had intended and we look forward to returning.

Great Place to Stay

Just stayed for 1 Night at the Somerville Torquay wish it could have been more as Grant and Adam could not be more helpful and the Breakfast was the best I have had in along time , Top Marks Will be back soon

Very british :-)

Pros: Frühstück, Lage und Freundlichkeit
Cons: Ist alles perfekt wie es ist. Sehr autentisch.
Location: Nahe beim Zentrum. Viele Erholungs-, Verpflegungs- und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten
Sehr freundliches, gemütliches und familiäres Hotel. Es fehlt an nichts! Würde gerne wieder ein paar Tage dort verbringen und das excellente Frühstück geniessen!

Sensationelles B&B. Sehr nette Gastgeber, hoher Komfort, sauber, tolle Lage - eigentlich schade, dass wir nur eine Nacht da waren.
