Got upgraded with the extra bedroom: excellent view from the balcony. Breakfast buffet was fab, very good value instead of eating out. Great location next to the ferry and shops.

Our apartment had a nice view across the pool, the adjacent marina and across to Townsville. Clean rooms with everything we needed. Although we didn't cook anything, the kitchen was equipped to do so if we wanted to prepare our own meals. Great pool and restaurant, friendly, helpful staff. Conveniently located close to the ferry terminal (but not at all noisy!), so it was an easy walk to the front door with all our baggage - no need to get a taxi! Walking distance to the bus, supermarket, a couple of cafés and Rock Wallabies! Recommended!

The aircon didn't work in all 3 bedrooms for our whole 3 night stay. The bucket and soggy towel in the wardrobe to catch drips suggests they already knew there was a problem. We complained and got "sorry about that, we'll send a fan up". The fan never arrived, and we had to chase them up again. It was cool enough with the fans blowing cold air in from the living room but we couldn't close any of the bedroom doors at night for privacy, which wasn't great. The shelf above the kitchen sink was dirty/greasy and it was obvious whenever they clean they only quickly wipe around the items on it with a damp cloth and not any spray. There was an almost empty carton of milk in the fridge (and no full one) so we couldn't make tea/coffee the first morning. On the second day we came back from sightseeing to find housekeeping had been but never finished. All of the towels were in a pile on the floor, 1 bed had been made, and one of the bathroom rubbish bins was up on the kitchen counter, full of rubbish. Reception made a note and told us they'd be back later to finish, but they never came. We got another "sorry about that, let me give you some more towels". On the Friday night the restaurant overcharged us $40. We brought the mistake to their attention of Sunday morning and they gave us two bottles of wine for free with dinner Sunday night, so it worked out in the end. We've stayed at the resort many times. We'll probably stay at Brighpoint next time.

We arrived a little early for check in but Pauline on the front desk told us where we could leave our luggage and booked a table at the restaurant for our dinner and rang us when our room was ready. The room was lovely, with. Kingside bed, lounge area and a balcony overlooking the marina. Peppers is right beside the ferry terminal, so very convenient and the bus stop is right outside the ferry terminal. Our dinner was lovely and the wait staff very attentive. Breakfast was included in our room and there was a great variety of options from fruit, cereal, pastries and hot food. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, sadly it was only one night but we would gladly go back.

We booked the most premium room but it was in desperate need of maintenance. I’m sure it was privately owned and managed by Accor. It seems very unlikely that Accor have attempted to maintain any standards over the apartments. Lots of maintenance issues, too many to mention

The hotel location was simply stunning and our apartment was great. The dining experience was not great but maybe under staffed as had a wedding function running at the same time but this shouldn’t have impacted our night.

Had issues with air conditioning. Took several days to resolve the issue and some constant pressure. Had constructive conversation with Manager before we left about our feelings and eventually came to a positive conclusion re reimbursement
