Good fishing. Whether you like boating, biking, playing board games, reading a book with unbeatable views, or simply relaxing with a brew while beaver and bird-watching, a great time awaits. Note: Water not swimmable in summer.
The cottage is perfect for nature-loving families and couples looking for a relaxing getaway! It feels private but is located in the 4-season serviced community of Green Acres. There is plenty to do for both adventure-seekers and those who prefer to stay in.
Relax in the themed living room (6.10ft ceiling) complete with a couch, rocking chair and 2 soft foldable chairs. It features a large window overlooking the backyard and river - a perfect spot for birdwatching. Wildlife is plentiful, including great blue herons, beavers, river otter, turtles, rabbits and woodpeckers.
For staying in, a Roku Stick, DVD movies, board games, and books for various ages are provided. This includes Prime Video, Roku Channel, Tubi, YouTube, CBC, Netflix (own account required) and more.
Enjoy a cup of Keurig-brewed coffee or cook a meal at the fully-equipped kitchen! Complete with fridge, microwave, stove/oven, toaster and kettle. Basic cooking necessities provided.
The first bedroom features a queen bed, computer workspace, and a dresser/makeup area. The second bedroom features two twin beds and a dresser/makeup area. Finally, the third bedroom contains a double bed and a small dresser with a mirror. Bedsheets, pillows, duvet and blankets are provided.
The washroom has a stand-in shower. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer and towels are provided.
The outdoor space is a large 1/3 acre private fenced backyard. It contains a deck overlooking the Trent River, BBQ, and firepit. Firewood provided. Let us know when starting a fire as we must activate our burn permit with the Trent Hills Fire Department and ensure there is no burn ban.
The dock is a great spot for watching sunsets and fishing!
Two single kayaks and youth/child kayak are provided, along with all rowing equipment, life jackets and bailing kits (mid April to mid October, weather permitting). Note that you will need to sign a waiver to use the equipment. The nearby wilderness area and back channel are perfect to explore for beginners (seasonal). Note that motorized craft use the channel so we do not recommend boating very far up or down the river unless you are a strong swimmer. We are not responsible for accidents or injuries. Please note that the canoe is not for guest use as it is unstable.
Other outdoor activities provided include 2 adult hybrid bicycles, croquet, disc throw, soccer ball, frisbee, etc..

► Host is not liable for any damage or theft to vehicles.
► Security cameras are present on premises, monitoring the driveway and deck ramp for guest safety and insurance purposes.
►We kindly ask our guests to conserve water whenever possible as the plumbing is on a holding tank.
► At certain times of the year (especially summer), the river's low currents cause weeds to accumulate near the dock and shore, so swimming is not recommended.
► Please ensure children are supervised when near and on the water. The river is used by motor boats, especially on summer weekends.
►You must sign a waiver to use the provided boating and cycling equipment. Link will be sent before arrival.
► For accessing Netflix, you will need to use your own account.
► Living room string lights will turn on at sunset and off at midnight. If you wish to have the timer or lights modified, please let us know.
