Staff working the front desk, was rude and made racist comments which weren’t appreciated. We were there as group of about 7 families, our kids are part of travel baseball team. We were in Marana for a tournament, and the front desk attendant working Saturday afternoons was unprofessional. She gave our head coach a hard time and scolded him on an issue that was not a big deal. One of our other parents was asked his last name, his last name is of Hispanic origin, so he said in a way she would understand. He thought he was making it easy for her, she came back with pronouncing it with a Hispanic accent and told him he had a “Big Cactus” on his forehead therefore she preferred saying it her way. He initially thought she was joking but she didn’t not smile or saying anything which would make him thinking she was being funny. Later that evening we requested to watch a football game on the TV in the lobby. We wanted to do team bonding with the kids and families. But I was told it was against policy and the anger strictly forbid it. We have been to many hotels from 3 stars to 5 stars and have never had these issues. On the contrary they have been very welcoming to us and facilitated the team hanging out. I’m very disappointed in how our team parents were treated and will never stay at this hotel again. What’s even more disappointing is we read the reviews people to booking, and they stated how welcoming the staff was. The staff we dealt with was as NOT!
