We had a reservation at the Sandman Signature Vancouver Airport Hotel on August 6. Upon arriving late, I was extremely tired from traveling and went straight to bed. The next morning, I woke up to find a large stain in front of me that appeared to be blood. My companion and I were immediately shocked and deeply disturbed by the sight. The experience left me feeling nauseous throughout the day, not knowing what kind of unsanitary substance we might have been exposed to all night. I contacted the hotel and its management, but received no response.

Hotel is gorgeous, staff is wonderful. I did not like that we were told that the outdoor pool closes at 9 but there was people out there being extremely loud until 2:00 am while I was trying to sleep.

The staff were friendly, the room was well maintained, the bed was comfortable, The hotel was clean and quiet. The only downside was there was not many dining options close by. The area was a bit secluded however there were taxi’s outside regularly.

The staff above all else was amazing and accommodating. They took their time and did not rush any of our interactions. The room was large and plenty of space for 3 of us. The beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the hotel is located on a side street, which takes a minimum of 10-15 mins walk to get out onto a main street, but it is very accessible by car and lots of free outdoor parking.

There was a free shuttle advertised however when the shuttle came, it was already full from another location. So we ended up having to get an Uber. They need to have an exclusive shuttle for the hotel, especially with the size of the hotel or sign up for a time slot. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was for the free airport shuttle and we ended up having to pay out-of-pocket for an Uber.

Stayed in the Columbia Tower, 15th floor with view, family of 3. Read that this was the newer section of the hotel, however our room was not what was expected. Pro: bed was comfortable and free parking. Cons: carpet is old, caused room to have an odor. Wall paper on walls were peeling off. Bathroom is small. We had 3 people, did not give adequate number of towel sets, had to call and ask for more. One tiny set of shampoo/conditioner, had to ask for more. Toilet paper was not a full roll, so had to ask for more the very next day. The kids enjoyed the pool and water slide, however, the pool area was not well kept and could use a thorough cleaning and never had enough pool towels for guest to use. I had to look pass my concerns for cleanliness to not spoil my kids' fun, but it was difficult to do. Not sure how this hotel has "resort" in it's name. Not impressed and will not be returning.

First, I was surprised there was a hotel deposit of CAD 270 when checking in. I was told they would refund it when checking out. Well, I checked out a week ago and still waiting on my deposit refund. Smoke alarm was dangling from the ceiling first day I checked in the room. I had to inform staff to have it fixed. Bed was soft. Requested housekeeping was hung on the door before 10 a.m. and came back in the evening. Room was not done. When I complained to front desk staff, I was told the request time on the card meant nothing. I'd have to call staff directly to get housekeeping. As far as I know, there is only one Chop restaurant/bar on site. We had dinner there one time and it was very noisy, couldn't carry an intimate conversation. No water station unless you have to go all the way to indoor pool area to get a refill and inhale the chlorine from the pool while passing it. Water drips everywhere from guests back from pool. I was told faucet water is safe or I'd have to buy from the gift shop. Bed headboard is scratched up on one side. Under bathroom sink floor was dirty. The only good thing about this hotel is the shuttle. It comes on time and convenient to travel back and forth.

Convenient for airport, excellent staff welcome, comfortable spacious rooms and nice pool area . A little frugal in some areas - no shower gel, milk for tea - coffee creamer only.
