Great stay

Selfa was a fabulous host. She helped organise a snorkelling excursion and a shared taxi for me back to the airport. The breakfast was delicious with homemade croquettes and dessert!

Absolutely amazing location! Literally a two min walk to the beach. The entry to the beach is in a quieter part of the beach too. Loved the room. Clean! Towels provided. She even provides water bottles at 1usd each which is convenient since there's nowhere to get water nearby. I bought instant noodles and she insisted on making them for me. She's so sweet. Breakfast was also great and a steal for 5usd. She will also arrange airport transportation if required. Only downsides I would say is the wifi situation, this casa is advertised as having wifi but you have to walk to the nearby etecsa (5min walk) buy one hour wifi cards (50peso each) to be able to access the wifi I suggest buying a lot as they seem to run out before the one hour is over. Also if you want to go dancing on Rd 42 or 62, I'd suggest staying closer as none of the street transport is willing to take you there at night from Rd 27. Still preferred this location for the price value and proximity to the beach. Lots of Love to Selfa! She also has an adorable 20 year old dog.

Selfa is a lovely and amazing host! The accommodation is super clean, affordable and quiet. She will treat you like a son/ daughter! I got sick and she made tea 😍😍😍😍 Super safe if you are traveling solo also! She serves an amazing and complete breakfast for $5 I super recommend staying here if you are coming to varadero - great location also If you want to do a day trip I highly recommend cayo blanco! Cayo Blanco is a paradise and I super recommend! I made my reservation through Havanatur - $75/ person They were very punctual and organized The staff were very attentive and made sure everyone was satisfied and happy! It was a lot of fun. Open bar It’s “all inclusive” but getting at the island, the pinas coladas and coconut water are not. Also, make sure to ask for sealed water bottles - im sure they are just filling bottles with tap water, i could see it wasn’t clean Food The lunch is included however very poor options. The lobster was the only thing that tasted good but it made me extremely sick. I have no idea how that is prepared and if it’s safe to eat. Now I am having tea while vomiting . Not good

Selfa is a great host! A great value-for-money option in Varadero. Close to almost everything. Just 10 minutes walk to the Viazul bus station.

Home away from home

The owners of the Casa are super nice and will help you with everything you need. They will offer better exchange rate for your USD/EUR, do your laundry and give you the low down on where is good to eat. On top of this they are just really nice people that we enjoyed meeting. We felt at home here.

Amazing stay at Hostal Selfa

My friend and I stayed at Selfa's place for two nights and it was wonderful. Selfa herself helped coordinate our taxi ride from Havana to Varadero and Varadero to the airport on our way out. She served delicious breakfasts in the morning and sat and chatted with us. She gave us really great recommendations for food and directions to access the local tourist bus. Her place is very clean and welcoming. The room was spacious and the bathroom was functional and attached to the room. There was even a balcony and a separate living room-type area next door to the bedroom. I would highly recommend Hostal Selfa for friends traveling together, couples, or even families!

Perfect stay in Varadero

Selfa is a lovely lady who made us very welcome. I can't recommend this place enough, we absolutely loved it and were so sad to leave. We particularly loved the roof terrace and Selfa's amazing breakfasts, so much so that we wanted to return towards the end of our trip but unfortunately there was no availability. If we go back to Varadero again we will definitely stay with Selfa. The beach is so close too, and there are shops, bars and restaurants nearby too. Selfa's place is absolutely perfect.
