This property is a lovely old Victorian house which has been beautifully restored. Safe, private parking. The breakfast is amazing!

Everything was great. Had a nice time here and breakfast was very good. Highly recommend. Would suggest putting an anti-slip mat in the bath tub, maybe a bath pillow for more back/head support/comfort, and a proper handle on the tub to make it easier for seniors or people with disabilities to get in and out, and for stability when using the shower function.

Beautiful heritage building with historic decoration throughout. Generously sized rooms and friendly and helpful staff. Our suite was generously sized and very comfortable. It felt like a very special place to stay.

Marvellous old Victorian style, like stepping back in time. Furniture, fixtures, solid wood and stained glass...it was lovely. Having said that, it's an old house and needs constant love. You can see materials for outside repairs will be done, so assume it is being attended to. Could use a some tidying up outside. Enjoyed our breakfast both days we were there.

A gem and great value in a lovely area!

Wow! What a find this charming Oak Bay mansion is! We spent a couple of nights there enjoying the charming and cosy old room and amenities. We enjoyed the lovely neighbourhood— great for walks and not too far from downtown. The breakfast each day was served in a lovely old dining room. There was plenty of food including fruit and home baking. It was a very full breakfast worth taking extra time to appreciate and enjoy. This hotel was an amazing value! We’re booked to stay there again soon. There is ample free private parking. This place is now on our priority stay list.

The Amethyst is a wonderful Victorian mansion full of character. It’s as if time stood still. My room was lovely, crisp bed linens & very cozy. Rachel was so welcoming when I arrived & the breakfast delicious. Even a GF muffin with breakfast! Definitely a great place to stay when visiting Victoria
