The hotel is older but kept up and has a lovely breakfast area. I was put off by the attitude of a staff member. I asked at the front desk if I could get a little milk or cream for my tea in my room. The woman curtly told me there is powder creamer in your room. When I told her I didn't like that kind she said there is a convenience store 2 blocks away . I know she could have walked a few steps to find some as there was plenty of small creamers at breakfast the next morning. Come on, put a little effort into customer service. I will not stay here again because of this staff member. Checking me in is your job, putting a little effort into helping someone is customer service

The Embassy Inn was a great surprise with how close to the harbour it was and how central and quiet! It was a comfortable room and we were on the 1st floor right over the enterance and we could not believe how quiet it was...we went to sleep with the sound of horse hooves, no city noise...it was quite amazing. Staff were nice and breakfast was adequate for a free one. They have a waffle maker which is a nice touch. Over all great stay.

What do you say about a hotel that has two young buck deer wandering the grounds nibbling on the flowers and vegetation at 8 PM. Tough to say anything bad about the place at all. Yeah it’s a little dated, but it’s only a few blocks from the downtown area of Victoria. Couldn’t help but notice that there were a significant number of international visitors while enjoying the excellent breakfast buffet. Having travelled a bit international travellers staying in your establishment means you’re doing a lot right. We travel within BC quite a bit and lean towards hotels that have a breakfast offering, I mean it just makes sense if you’re travelling alone or with family. Very happy to report that this is one of the best buffet breakfasts we have enjoyed for a number of years. The room was clean, well equipped, and dated as well. The bathroom was clean, had all the amenities needed, including a great shower with copious amounts of hot water. Are there flashier places a few minutes away… probably. If you’re looking for a family friendly and economical place close to everything that checks all the boxes, you can’t go wrong here. We’ll stay again for the breakfast itself.
