I am writing to express my disappointment regarding an experience I had during the check-in process for a recent booking made for my employees.
Upon arrival, the hotel management informed us that they do not accept business credit cards for payment unless the business owner is present. This policy was unexpected, and I was required to go to the reception desk to discuss the matter further. Unfortunately, the staff member I spoke to was unhelpful and insisted that this was a new rule, leaving us with no choice but to resolve the situation on the spot.
I believe it would have been beneficial for your hotel to communicate such policies during the booking process. If we had been informed of this requirement, we could have made alternative arrangements and avoided this inconvenience.
Additionally, I sensed a level of bias in the handling of this situation, which I found concerning. As a resident of Victoria for the past 25 years, I have never encountered such a policy, particularly one that seems to impact companies booking accommodations for their employees in this manner.
This experience has left a negative impression, and I hope you will consider revisiting this policy for the convenience of your business clients.
