The staff was very friendly and the property was well maintained in a quiet residential neighborhood. We stayed in the cottage so we had our own parking. The location was behind the legislative building, shopping and dining was within walking distance. Great location, would stay here again.

Very friendly and obliging staff. Clothes storage very limited and would like to see a mirror in the bedroom and possibly a small table or unit in the bathroom for toiletries. We still enjoyed our stay and location was perfect with a short stroll to the waterfront and off street parking. Thankyou!

Roy and the staff were very nice and helpful! Great coffee. Our group of 7 really enjoyed the lobby. Coffee and iced lemon water was excellent as well as the food in the adjoining restaurant.

Lovely historic hotel in quiet neighborhood. Easy walking distance to main attractions. Staff very friendly and accommodating. No air condition but they provide fan and with the window open you get a nice breeze and wake up to chirping birds. Hotel restaurant was very good and reasonably priced.Free parking is a plus. Loved our stay and will be back again! Very clean!

A spacious apartment with a well equipped kitchen, separate bedroom, and dining area overlooking a lovely garden. There was a comfortable leather couch and 2 comfortable chairs, an electric fireplace which was perfect to take the chill off and a large TV. The space had all the comforts of home and was located in a quiet neighborhood just a 10 minute walk from the parliament buildings, the wharf, and shops. There was a good grocery store and liquor store just a block away. We loved the ambiance and staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we ever go back to Victoria.

A great gem with character!

The location of this hotel is fantastic! It is one block from Beacon Hill Park with quiet streets, lots of flowers and an old fashion decor. The room was roomy with two queen beds, chairs to sit on include a desk with a large chair. Very much enjoyed our stay. We are semi regular guests at this grand old hotel.

The hotel was fine. Its over a 100 years old, so the decor is what one would expect. There is no elevator, so if you have heavy bags and aren't physically fit, beware. My problem was with staff in the restaurant. Due to medical treatments I had to undergo, I am no longer able to eat solid food. I bring my liquid food with me when I travel. On the day we checked in my wife & I patronized the onsite restaurant. My wife ordered dinner and I ordered a beverage only and brought my liquid food. All was ok. The next morning we returned so my wife could order breakfast & me coffee. Surprisingly, the hostess was annoyed with me for bringing my liquid food and told me I couldn't consume it there. My wife and I weren't going to put up with her belligerant attitude so we both left. I've been doing the same thing in restaurants for 5 years now and never ever was I refused service. It felt like we had been kicked out. Needless to say it was extremely upsetting. What if you went there with someone and didn't feel like eating, would you expect to be tossed out? Just blows my mind that we were treated like that!

Cute, quaint rooms. Centrally located. Lovely staff! We ate in both on-site restaurants and had good experiences at both. My only complaint is that we could hear people talking in the room next to us, but it wasn’t bothersome and I guess is to be expected in a historic building.

The place has a great location, very friendly and helpful staff and is kept mostly clean. However, it is fairly old and has a smell of old rags in the common areas - a watch out for people sensitive to this kind of thing.
