We stayed there in 2024 and had terrible service from front desk to the bar and restaurant. This visit 5/25 it was back to the old Marcus Whitman- Great Hospitality on the phone and at the front desk. Fantastic service in the bar and restaurant. Our only issues are 1) the bathrooms are tiny! 2) being put in a room across from the very noisy elevator! .

The hotel is very impressive. We stayed in the tower section. The room was great. The lobby is so huge, lots of places to lounge at. We also ate at the Marc. Will definitely stay here every time we go to Walla Walla.

Beautiful lobby, rooms were clean, and bed was comfortable. However, a lot of street noise could be heard from our room on the 3rd floor, even with ear plugs. It sounded like the local street car racers with their loud mufflers were cruising downtown on a Friday night.

When we checked in, the elevators were out of service so we had to walk up four floors to our room. And then when we checked out, they checked our bill and said we didn’t need to pay anything further and that our payment was all taken through Expedia and we didn’t have any incidentals. Then a couple days later a $50 charge showed up on my credit card. So, I called them and they said that was a standard charge, even though they didn’t mention that when I checked in or out. $50 isn’t the end of the world but just irritating that they would charge that without ever mentioning it and that I would not have noticed it unless I checked my credit card bill. The room was nice enough, but the bathroom was not very clean and in in need of updating.

The Whitman is a beautiful property but they do silly things like add $75 to the stay for parking and internet to be redeemed with $15 per day in the restaurant. That type of thing bugs me - suddenly a stay is wrapped in a “thing” that is $75 more expensive than I thought it would be.

They charge $25 additional per day for our “room amenities” which I found absurd. On top of that, the walls were so thin we were kept awake most of the night (until 3 am!) due to two ladies next door who were obviously enjoying their bachelorette weekend and talking and talking and talking. We paid for two nights but left the next day not staying the 2nd night because we needed a good night sleep.
