It is central to other towns, convenient, easy parking, no cleaners on weekend and as a result, bins in toilet & bathrooms are over flowing. Buckets on hallways for water leaks. Lack of ventilation. I recommend it for stop over of a couple of days. Good for adult travels and work for its convenience but not with children.

Close to the Main Street and easy parking. Can be noisy on weekends if you’re an early sleeper.
It is a beautiful historical hotel, the interior is amazing, you feel like you are in another world, the service was very good, they were very helpful, reasurring, the prices are great, the food excellent, you meet and make new friends, very family orientated.
Don't look at the photos. One very small room , no hanging space , tea and coffee making in communal room with no cutlery , no fridge in room but in communal room. Woule like health check on tea and coffee making "table". Heritage listed but could do far better.
Rooms are average and could do with a make over. Water out of taps is brown and wouldn't be recommend to use. Up side meal's are well priced and delicious and made up for the advantage rooms. Probably wouldn’t stay again for the price but would go there for meals
We stayed in "the Apartment" at the hotel. Beautiful spacious room/lounge/kitchen and best of all airconditoned.
Be aware is says 1 queen 1 single in the advert. Single is a mattress on the floor.
Food from the bistro was amazing even with it being a very busy night. Steak cooked to perferction and Parmys to die for.
Will be back.
Loved the Princess Suite which was spacious and furnished to match its unique character. It was great having a separate lounge and bedroom, both air conditioned. I would definitely stay again
It was under difficult circumstances we stayed as we were up there for the funeral of our 18 year old son. A couple of day prior to arrival I rang to check if it had a second bedroom for our nearly 13 year old son . I was told that someone would ring me the next day which never happened .when we checked in one large bed and I enquired as to where the third was . It was a mattress under the bed so we dragged it out and put in lounge room . It took a while for lady to come back with the linen but understandably Friday night and they were busy . The day of the funeral actually that night my son asked about a towels he apparently dripped dried in the morning as they forgot to bring him a towel . The internet was woeful but we were told they were having issues, and the shower kept going from hot to very cold - extremely frustrating. Be warned though there are some pretty steep high steps - I have neck shoulder and knee injuries and getting suitcases up was near impossible for my husband and my son . My husband also has knee injury . Overall not bad but for us it was difficult in a few certain areas …

We stopped for an overnight stay, very noisy has we were told there was a function on being a Saturday night. But the noise continued for most of the night with people running up and down the hallway (which was timber in the section we were in) and standing in the hallway talking. We had no blind or curtain covering our window (our room faced the center of the building), so lots of lights were shining in. We had a shared bathroom which was very clean. In our room we had a basin, when we turned on the cold-water tap (only one that worked) the water was brown.
When elderly people or anyone with SOME disabilities travelling as there is no lifts at this premises a bellboy should be OFFERED to carry baggage etc up the 2 flights of stairs as NO LIFTS available 👿👿👿👿

Criterion certainly has that country charm, the staff were exceptionally good and friendly and very helpful. The staff make the Criterion great all over. Some of the patrons shod probably seek counselling or check into rehab. The staff deserve a 10/10 for all the crap they put up with. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay there.

Tidy and neat typical old hotel accommodation. Not much information on check in and did not know what to do with the key when we left. When we left at 8 am, hotel was locked and no staff to speak to or give the key to. Had to return later in the morning to return the key. That was inconvenient.

my rating is base on the fact that A: the hotel is quite an old building so so modern facilities are limited or non existent
B: in regards to noise this is a pub in the centre of the Warwick CBD so noise is to be expected. The room was bare but the bed was comfortable and the pub central to everything (well almost everything). The staff were friendly at check in. I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to book again.
Only problem for me as pensioner was no chair to sit on in room. Simple straight back chair would have been useful. Also handrail on 3 steps on 1st floor landing between lounge and room 14 where I stayed.
The accommodation is "old world" and is both charming and comfortable. We stayed in the "flat" and found it suited us nicely for the Leyburn and winery trips. Also Morgan Park is close , if you enjoy racing cars!
After i had booked this room almost 6 months in advance.. THE OWNER cancelled it because he wanted to use the room- by that time all accommodation was booked out because of the festival. Expedia was impossible to contact and it not know it had been cancelled.
