We chose this hotel because we could walk to it from Union Station. What I need from a hotel is clean, quiet, and safe, with convenient food options. This one has clean and safe. I was traveling with my teen who only eats buttered bagels or toast for breakfast. The restaurant host at the hotel couldn’t tell me if they had any bagels or bread. I asked what their breakfast sandwiches came on and he had no idea. It’s a very limited menu that doesn’t describe at all what the options are, and it’s the same vague breakfast menu in both hotel restaurants. So we ordered door dash. That didn’t bother us too much, as the other staff was friendly and helpful and the overall stay was fine, clean enough and a good location, but I’ll probably not stay here again and here’s why: The day before check in they invited me by text to make any special requests, so I said I’d prefer a room as far away as possible from elevators and the lobby because I’m an extremely light sleeper. We got room 927, which is as close to elevators as you can possibly get. It seemed like a strange thing to offer requests and then give the customer the direct opposite of what was requested. It was pretty noisy and if I didn’t have ear plugs I would’ve gotten no sleep there. The other suboptimal thing in my opinion about this hotel, and it’s just my personal preference, is the bathroom has no audible fan, is super echoey, and has a pocket door. It just felt like it had no privacy. That all said, it was ok.

The hotel itself was very pretty, and the location was great — close to everything I needed. Unfortunately, the customer service really ruined the experience for me. When I booked my stay, I paid extra specifically for a king-size room with a “city view.” However, when I checked in, I was placed in a room with a king bed but the view was just the back of another building. When I brought this to the front desk’s attention, I was basically gaslighted and told I had only paid for a regular king room. I had to pull up the hotel’s own website and show them the price difference to prove I had paid for the city view. Even then, I was told that if I switched to the correct room, it would “be my problem” if there was too much noise from the street — as if I was inconveniencing them by asking for what I had already paid for. They finally moved me to the correct room, but the way I was treated made it feel like I was asking for a favor, not holding them to a service standard. To make matters worse, when I went back to move my things from the original room, they had already deactivated my key, which left me stuck in the lobby because the elevators only work with a room key. It’s a shame, because the room I finally ended up in was beautiful — exactly what I had expected when booking — but the unprofessional and dismissive attitude from the lobby staff made the entire experience unpleasant. I will not be staying here again.

Spacious and very comfortable rooms. Parking is available off property at the public garage across the street (garage closes at midnight and opens at 6am). Elevators are run by your room card (put party was on separate floors, so if going to the other room, someone from the other room had to meet in the lobby to escort back up to their floor).
