I loved the CitizenM, never having stayed at one before. It has a fun, funky ambiance, comfortable rooms, great breakfast buffet (good stuff, eggs, bacon, avocado toast, salmon & cream cheese), a nice bar, very convenient location a block from the Metro, and a good price point. Rooms are compact (as wide as the king bed is long) and good for a couple or single traveler.

This is the second time I've stayed here, and I would stay here again - it's clean, convenient and quiet. Rooms are small but that worked well for me. The only negative is that the check in process is designed to be self-service, but it's not obvious how to do it, so most people checking in when I arrived (including me) required assistance from staff - I suggest either changing the computer prompts to make the instructions more clear, or just using staff to check in new arrivals.

Overall property was interesting the decor was on the wild side but it grows on you after a while. I was not happy with the heating system at all. The highest setting is 78° from the room. Unfortunately the room never felt warm even after changing to a second. Very disappointed asked for 3 blankets cold constantly coming off the window in the room.

This hotel is contemporary and it was a total experience for us! My husband and I loved that the ambiance of the room could be changed and that everything in the room was controlled by an iPad. The view was wonderful and although the room was not spacious, it was a nice room. The staff were extremely helpful. Parking is an issue. We spent about 35 minutes just looking for a parking spot.

I like the area, hotel room I had was cute and cozy but a little smaller than an interior cabin on a cruise ship. I did not like breakfast. It is prepared by night staff. If you don't eat by 6am food is dry and some was burnt. The price is high. The dinner is available but they have some finger fors to go with the drinks they serve.

Everything was great besides that we woke up to the cleaning noise from next door on chekout day and went on perhaps an hour, tapping hammering etc. These type of maintenance should be done AFTER checkout time.

The first room I was given was not prepped and there was a foul odor in the room and on the sheets. The iPad also was not working. I called the front and was given a second room and hour later. The second room I was given was fine until the last night of my stay because the light from the window fell straight out of the bracket. I was so alarmed by the noise when it suddenly happened. Thank God I wasn’t near it when it fell. When I called the front desk to notify them they said that it has been occurring frequently due to a flood the hotel had the week before. The room should have been off limits if that was the case. I have stayed here frequently and usually have a good stay however this time was not the best stay. I have reached out and they made notes in my booking however have not been contacted as of yet on how I can be compensated for the inconvenience of it all.
